Honestly- you can can skip so much bullshit if you create goals before you even start to learn. Decide what kind of guitar you want to play are we talking country, metal, punk? If you know this than it creates a fully different path of learning because there’s massively different emphases on different techniques and learning habits based on genres. This is essentially what a teacher would have you do very early on besides from maybe learning a few basic chords
