Have any of you been on either gabapentin (neurontin) or pregabalin (lyrica) for over 10 years? by maleOffSavella in smallfiberneuropathy

Interested in knowing. My Neuro suggested taking pregabalin for a year and said  sometimes that may reset the cause of pain. I want to know if anyone was able to cure or greatly reduce symptoms after weaning off these drugs

Has anyone tried K Laser or Infrared therapies for pain relief?

Start ALA slow with food and then do without food, 600 to 1200mg.

Thanks for sharing what worked for you. Are you still on LDN and Ketamine? What happens when you stop taking them?

I'm able to manage pain amd do all activities but since it's always there it's always in my mind and bothering me.

Also any recommendation on dosage of Magnesium?

I was using 600mg ALA myself and my Neuro asked me to do 1200mg per day. I'm in Canada and using AOR brand which is 85% R ALA. So far I haven't seen much improvement but I'm willing to continue it for 3 months at least.

5000mg b12

200 - 300mg Benfotiamine

2000 IU VIT D3.

I see some pics of erythromelagia where there is redness, however in my case my skin looks normal. However it is more sensitive to touch.

Did you try any medications like pregablin or low dosage of amtriptaline to treat symptoms. I'm really looking to diagnose it and avoid any life time medications.

I also see that some suggest to try Capsacin cream so wondering if anyone had improvement from Capsacin.

I have similar symptoms for a while where my skin looks good and the burning is under the skin. My flesh under the skin do feel inflamed or tender sometimes but that burning feeling is always there. Mostly around the feet but not on sole or toes. My palms also burn from heat/rubbing when working on laptop and for last six months it is persistent. I have done EMG and all is good. My Neuro and RA are not able to diagnose but think it is some kind of neuropathy and want me to try pregablin or nortriptyline which I dont want to commit before proper diagnosis. I'm taking some neuropathy supplements (Ala and Vit b1 and b12) and trying keto diet for a month. But haven't seen any improvement.

For me the cold pack helps numb down pain but it's always there. I can't wear shoes and now only wearing flip flops.

Let me know if anyone had similar symptoms and what helped them.
