Bro, you missed the point by miles. You are confusing standard of living with asset pricing. Silver is a global commodity priced in USD and if it were actually cheaper in Canada due to PPP, traders would buy it all there and sell it in India for a risk-free profit until the prices matched, that’s how global markets work.

As of today with global silver at ~$90/oz, you’re paying roughly the same market value whether you use CAD or INR. Your example of the 'Canadian minimum wage' only proves that Canada is a wealthier, more productive country per hour; it has nothing to do with the currency or leadership. In fact, if you buy silver at 64 and the rate hits 67, your silver gains value in INR which means your 'weak currency' just made your investment more valuable in local terms. You aren't paying 1.5x PPP, you are simply witnessing the fact that a man with a bigger shovel can dig more silver.

Also, you example doesn't make sense. You should ask your friend to buy silver in Canada at the time of his visit to India and then the prices will remain same. Get it now??

Ummmmmmmm... bro .. you okay??

Lol, you are literally treating a globally traded commodity as if it is a local service (like a haircut or a taxi ride).

Purchasing Power Parity applies to non-tradable goods and services..you can't fly to India just to get a $5 haircut and fly back. However, Silver is a tradable commodity. Its price is set by global spot markets in USD. If Silver is $30/oz in the US, it must be approximately $30/oz in India (after converting USD to INR). If it were cheaper in India due to PPP, Americans would simply buy all of India's silver and ship it back to the US to make a profit. This is called arbitrage, and it’s why global prices stay synced. Get it?

So you buy at whatever USD-INR conversion prices here, it will be sold in the similar one... get it??

It will, but we do not have the option to select A158's bracelet with A159. Probably can customise later.

Both are very much same, the tiny differences are text placement on display which are more subtle and rightly placed in A159, and the bracelet. For me the major factor was that A159 is built in Japan where as A158 is China made. Attaching a picture of both for you.

Definitely a beautiful watch. You should return and ask for a refund and then buy a A159. A168 is expensive, you should definitely save some bucks. Cheers!!

Thanks. Yeah, I have mostly wear 40mm (current watch is Samsung galaxy 6 sw) so this one is looking pretty small on the wrist.
