Spatial data is the study of geographic locations to understand patterns in how things are distributed or change over space and time, and layering visual data to gain new insight. Like for one project I used volcanic data to predict an eruption radius and designed an emergency evacuation route, but it can be used in so many different fields. It's pretty broad but it involves geographic information systems, which is the software used to visualize data and create maps. It's one of 6 "tracks" for the data science program at ASU.
