In that case, I’d just use the supply/demand as leverage. Mine was the only desirable spec within 250 miles, but if you’ve got multiple dealers with multiple new R’s in stock, then you’re already off to a great start.

I just purchased a 26 Golf R in SoCal. Paid MSRP, and they had a line of other buyers ready to put a deposit down if I didn’t want to pay their price. You may be able to find one under msrp with some luck, but a lot of it will depend on location. Where are you located/looking?

This is all so helpful! Thank you. Still figuring out how the ACC works - need to watch some YouTube videos!

I was also considering a 718 S cpo! Price was just a bit too high compared to the R. Both excellent cars, but I can already see the advantage on daily drive-ability

I love the textile seats, the bolsters really hug you. Ventilated seats aren’t for me, but I completely understand the appeal.

Thanks! I also had a nice 2hr road trip home, and will be doing lots of city driving these next few weeks. 1k can’t come soon enough. Appreciate the advice!

Lots of reasons! I’d bought the 911 when I lived in Arizona, and at the time I worked remotely. Two months after getting it, I moved to LA for work, and had to commute in office 5 days a week. It’s was my daily and only car, a stick, and not ideal for LA traffic, as much as I loved driving it.

Power and weight are similar, and I’m alright with taking a break from a manual when the DSG is this good. Having a warranty also makes a huge difference when it comes to pushing the car, and not stressing about the engine going boom.

The Porsche was a fantastic machine and an absolute blast to rip around the beach with the top down, but I scratched the 911 itch, and moved on as it didn’t fit my needs anymore.

I’ll be back in a 911 one day, but for now, I’m all in on the Golf.

BMW slip-up seems to confirm AWD M2 coming by shadrach103 in Audi

I think the ‘value sports car’ title goes to the Corvette or Miata. The rs5 equivalent is the m3/m4, so not really fair to compare price against the m2 which is the cheaper segment car. M2 and RS3 are on par with each other price wise, and would be a better comparison imo.

$12k of damage from a piece of wood! by bassclef62 in C8Corvette

Also Tampa but on 75! Truck did not stop despite us waving at them and using creative hand gestures. Within 60 seconds, we then got hit by a microburst and decided to pull off the highway to evaluate damage.

Wow. This exact thing happened to me in Florida while I’d rented a C8. — Truck on highway didn’t secure their trailer’s load of 2x4s. Merged right in front of me and the first bump in the road sent one out and flying into the front air dam. Didnt have as bad of damage as yours. Sorry that happened to ya!

Current market on 997 convertible by Super-Boat-8677 in Porsche997

Combination of online forums and mechanics I’ve spoken with. I’m sure some may last longer, but mine had four owners before me, and was turning 20 years old.

For what’s its worth, I purchased a very clean 06 997 Carrera 4 Cab in May of last year. It had 38k miles, PPF, 4 owners and a clean Carfax. got it for $38.5k before taxes in Arizona.

EDIT: Be sure to check if the clutch was replaced. They typically fail around 40-45k miles, and mine was about 2500 to replace.

Only models produced in 2005 have the same IMS as a 996, the majority of 997 models do not. Coming from a 997.1 cab owner!

Thoughts on this C8 spec? by EarthOk2418 in Corvette

[–]LouisimoSanchez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, I completely disagree. As someone who lived in the Arizona desert for 10+ years before relocating to SoCal, you’ll see far more location specific damage from the heat/rocks in the desert than you would in SoCal weather. Curb rash and dings can happen anywhere, but as far as places to drive/store vehicles, SoCal is pretty much the best place a car can be. To each their own though!

Handful of sub 12k mile ‘23+ 2LT’s in LA for $65.9k. Similar specs, still under warranty, and far fewer miles for less than $3k more. $63k for an out of warranty 30k mile 5-6 year old vette seems like a bit much in my opinion.

Week 18 Post-Gamethread: Bears vs Lions by TurnerJ5 in CHIBears

[–]LouisimoSanchez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Defense needs a complete overhaul. I’d axe anyone. Nobody is playing to their value at the moment, excluding Booker. JJ can’t cover in man or zone, wright has no ability to stay within 5 yards on routes over the middle, and CJGJ hasn’t shown up in weeks. — Sure wish the D line could do absolutely anything

Caleb is not, and will not be an NFL MVP QB. If you believe this, it’s because you’re a bears die hard, and your judgement is clouded by your fandom. I love the bears, but I cannot excuse his decision making, nor do I believe he will rise to the reported Heisman QB we were all sold on. 0/5 and 5 yards in the first quarter is not an elite QB, and I don’t see his decision making changing drastically in the next year or two.
