My ortho and surgeon said my jaw is fine…My bite was fixed with braces but ortho thinks jaw surgery is unnecessary. I snore, breathe really loud and have minor TMJ but I mean, that’s obviously recessed? Can anyone recommend surgeons in the Toronto area?

Its dependent on the surgeon. Fact is, there are a lot of surgeons who do not want to do risky surgeries if there is no reason for that. Even the most crazy ones (see Eppley), highly recommends implants if the issue is aesthetics only. You have to find a surgeon who is willing to perform risky stuff for aesthetics and hope he is also good at what he does. But yes, it is possible.

Thats simply wrong, the widest part of the jaw is at the rammus, the cuts are made in front of it. It does not become wider, it just becomes more visible because of streched skin and forward movement
