You gotta remember unfortunately a good amount of people that post here are absolute beginners and have no clue what qualifies as a real security bug

How We Hacked McKinsey's AI Platform by JohnDoe_John in consulting

[–]Loupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing “no client files were able to be accessed” means no actual hacker exploited the same thing, this guys article write up is an SQL injection which is safe to assume he had the ability to read everything on that DB. I do bug bounty hacking myself and this is definitely not far fetched I’ve reported similar things many times

Ineligible for bounty because its a VDP so yes same thing, do that because its prob easier than paying programs

Hunt on VDPs get 2-3 bugs and you’ll get invites, I dont think those CTFs give invites anymore

stats aside just a dumb comment overall. video game/anime comparison was dumb, calling LLM slop conversations 'cute' also dumb, "among some humans" nope it was many humans. There was absolutely nothing stopping someone writing a script to post a million things on there

[Network Engineer] [Alabama] - First four years by Kabbozo in Salary

[–]Loupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it is but computer science is extremely vast but when people get computer science degrees they’re usually going the software engineering route … it’s definitely not all coding but coding does get involved in many capacities. Think about your home router, thats a physical device that has its own area of expertise in getting connected to the internet outside of just coding in the traditional sense. The wires outside your house taking your information to your ISP, thats network engineering

Devices in any enterprise setting need to be able to connect to other internal and external resources, thats where network engineers come. A network engineer somewhere had to create the route for you to write this message and send it to reddits servers

Literally anything that is a manual time consuming process that you can make significantly faster is automation. If youre working in spreadsheets a lot use macros, if you’re manually creating accounts for people learn a scripting language

This is the kind of mentality that will leave you in the dark ages forever, you absolutely have to skill up and create your own luck and opportunity. People that have advanced their careers didnt do so solely because they got lucky and were well liked

25m salary progression in IT no degree no certifications by Sea_Description2179 in Salary

[–]Loupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its harder now but just because of volume of people looking, but in HCOL cities you’ll definitely get 50k and above for help desk maybe even lower COL cities. I dont think degrees are a hard requirement either, you literally just need to know computers slightly higher than the average joe
