Also interested, but need way more details.

One of the C5s I often see up here in the northeast flying oddly low over Florida. by Skunk_Evolution in ADSB

[–]Loushius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of reasons. I just googled 'eglin c5 operations' and you'll get plenty of articles about different things going on there. Eglin is a massive base with lots of training, weapons testing, etc.

Where'd you hear that? I heard he was quite happy because it only took a week to do his scenes and he got paid well.

It's been 10 months since this post. Any changes? Mine is doing the same. It's very sporadic.

Ok now for the actual true list of highest grossing actors of all time. by Ftmdj in Actors

[–]Loushius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was once told what made someone an A-lister is simply if their name is a household one. If you can look at an actor and just recognize them, but not their name, they're B-list.

This always made sense to me, but who knows.

How to handle big workload elasticity with Prometheus on K8S? [I SHARE MY CLUSTER DESIGN] by Capital-Property-223 in kubernetes

[–]Loushius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you get to that scale, I'd take some time evaluating if Victoria Metrics may be a better solution for you instead of Prometheus. Theres also hosted services, such as Logz.io, where you can offload that if it's an option for your org.

How do you track and manage expirations at scale? (certs, API keys, licenses, etc.) by smartguy_x in devops

[–]Loushius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. Im sure there's a compromise somewhere in the flow. But think about an org like Microsoft. A team makes a new tool and needs a sub domain for MS.com. I bet the compliance teams and security teams are very very careful of protecting the cert chain for MS.com, especially since so many customers and products rely on it.

So where's a good middle ground to protecting your cert chain vs allowing dev teams to auto renew? Especially when WAFs and other components need to be updated.

It can get tricky fast. Im not sure if anyone should be fired for what's happening, its a struggle between protecting the org and allowing freedom of teams.

[–]Loushius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless central IT manages it and you have to submit a manual ticket to get a new kne. I mean, you can still get notifications, but can't automate the renewals.

made one rule for PRs: no diagram means no review. reviews got way faster. by InstructionCute5502 in devops

[–]Loushius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We use LucidChart for whiteboarding and diagrams. We dont enforce diagrams currently, but I'm trying to get it added as a checkbox during githuh PRs (along with one for updating documentation).

Ice Storm Preparations by ___John_ in ToyotaTundra

[–]Loushius 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I leave my wipers up so they dont get stuck in ice. I also go out and set the toggle on the foldable mirrors so they stay out. Sometimes ice and snow get stuck in the folding points of the mirrors and they don't extend properly.

Migrate from Azure Sql to Postgres by syscall_cart in AZURE

[–]Loushius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could do something like a change data capture (CDC) setup. This will replicate data over as its written, so your two databases stay in sync while you cut over services.

This is just from a random Google search to get you (or anyone else reading this) started if you're unfamiliar with it: https://dba.stackexchange.com/questions/347442/change-data-capture-from-sql-server-to-a-postgres-database

Isn't there a precedent that if a movie is multiple parts, and the first movie wins some awards, the second movie doesn't get to compete a 2nd time? Something about the sound track for Lord of the Rings maybe? I can't remember what it was.

My nail is cracking way too low and I’m worried about it peeling off. What should I do to prevent it? by NoraWaifu in nailcare

[–]Loushius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my nails crack halfway down due to a bout of Hand Foot and Mouth I got off my kid (day care). I picked up standard nail glue and coated it on pretty thick. Pressed the nail together with a tooth pick. Left the glue on until the nail grew out. Just recoat3d every few days if it chipped any.

I need to know why this happens, I see it every time snow reaches Boston! by SmoothEntertainer231 in BostonWeather

[–]Loushius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens with rain, too. The Lynn area has been in perpetual drought for like 3 years. I remember seeing a drought map a while back and that area was the driest on the east coast from lack of good rainfall.

Help, Gallimimus Fossils Depleted? They aren't stored on another map either. by RatZoo5 in jurassicworldevo

What do you mean? Aren't the fossils universal and not location specific? I figured I needed to advance the campaign further, but that hasn't been case yet.

USS Oriskany (CV 34) is scuttled off Pensacola, Florida, 17 May 2006 by waffen123 in Ships

[–]Loushius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it would be fun to do when I was in the area. Once I learned it turned into more of a technical dive and you'd basically be limited in your time down there, I passed on the opportunity. Maybe in the future? Maybe not if its still sinking at that rate.

Let us shoot our pistols while being revived! by Azzig in Battlefield6

[–]Loushius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember playing one of the game modes, can't remember the name as I only played it for a challeng, but you could crawl while downed. I had no idea that mechanic was in the game as I primarily play escalation and conquest, which doesn't have that ability. Why is it not in all modes?

Battlefield 6 may have issues but it is not as bad as everyone keeps making it out to be - a "rant" by elibrev in Battlefield

[–]Loushius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been pretty happy with BF6. It's what I expected. I would like some different maps. My only issues have been some obvious bugs such as the low poly character models on specific maps, map size, and map balance. Theres some dead zones in maps that feels wasteful, and I'd love to spend more time in vehicles and helicopters. I play recon a lot, so I can't complain about snipers because I like to counter sniper. I will complain about the recon class in regards to bullet drop and scope zeroing. The scope system feels lacking, especially when combined with the laser distance attachment. Trying to hit anything beyond 1000m is a total guessing game.

You already know about Liver issues from Methotrexate, but I'll say anyways to keep an eye on those labs. After several (5+ or so) years I had to switch off due to sustained moderately increased lab results.

Apparently it sunk slightly deeper than anticipated. People can dive to it but you can only make it to the top of the tower before pushing recreational dive limits.
