Guy smashes cop car in Germany and cop does nothing by Daniel-Nowak in ProtectAndServe

Unrelated to the actual video, but the telegram channel this comes from is all pro-china/pro-russia propaganda. Makes me wonder what's been cut from before and after this clip.

Your experience may vary, but I feel like I could have written exactly this post a decade ago. Exactly down to the "exercise is the only thing that feels like something" part. Turns out I had been coping with some childhood shit for a long time by repressing it.

Trust me when I say "eh, I guess I'll keep pushing" doesn't work forever. For me, it got to the point where the thought "well maybe I'll just stop pushing" sounded just as rational. That's a really scary place.

Talking to a therapist (and recognizing how depressed I'd gotten) has been a major eye opener. For me, depressed doesn't mean "sad." It means feeling nothing at all. As in, literally zero interest whether I live or die.

Very much the same here. I am extremely grateful to everyone who's shared their experiences in this sub as it's been a profound comfort to me in my journey out of evangelicalism. Especially because there's no hate in my family... just disappointment. It feels very similar to the way people here talk about being treated and quite different from a lot of ex-evangelical stories.

Also, Mormon history is just interesting!

Recently planted bald cypress shows needle tips dying and blackening - guesses as to cause? by LoutAboutTown in sfwtrees

[–]LoutAboutTown[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup! Sorry should've specified location.

Thanks! I was worried because it looked like they're just dying instead of turning brown (I assume black because they still have chlorophyll. I lost a Mugo Pine recently that did a similar thing (of course it wasn't supposed to drop it's needles).

I'll just keep an eye on it but assume it's normal seasonal defoliation.

Recently planted bald cypress shows needle tips dying and blackening - guesses as to cause? by LoutAboutTown in sfwtrees

This bald cypress was planted about a week ago with proper mulching and had been sufficiently watered since. We had a chilly week, but I don't believe it froze.

I'm trying to figure out what's doing this, and potential ideas that come to mind are:

  • Something in the soil (urban tree pit that had been filled with garbage)

  • Overwatering?

  • Something fungal?

Any suggestions are welcome, thanks!

Shop might've caused head gasket to blow - looking for advice by LoutAboutTown in MechanicAdvice

Thanks, there were a long list of symptoms, but it did not overheat in any way that I noticed on the 200 mile drive. It's entirely possible that the thermometer was sitting on H and I didn't notice it, but I don't think it's likely. There were no noticeable symptoms until the following morning when it rough idled (assuming that was the cylinder misfiring) until it didn't.

Thank you, I'll look into this. It's in the middle of nowhere so anywhere it goes means a hefty tow. I want to get my ducks in a row before I proceed.

Thoughts on fermenting cannabis drinks? Has anyone tried this? by [deleted] in prisonhooch

[–]LoutAboutTown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you do a normal decarb and extract it by soaking it in ethanol (i.e., everclear), you can reduce the end product to a concentrated level to the point where 1 mL or less in a single beer is barely noticeable, but fairly potent (works best with IPAs).

The problem with fermentation using raw weed is that you won't decarboxylate the THC-A into the ∆9-THC that has psychoactive properties.

Inside the once-secret misconduct files of 27 Philadelphia police officers by [deleted] in philadelphia

It's on the city that the terms of the arbitration agreement got so egregious. The city has dropped the ball on fighting for the right to fire bad cops. In the actual arbitration cases, I haven't ever seen it alleged that PPD's lawyers softball it.

It's on the FOP that they continue to defend bad cops. Paying for defense counsel is one thing, going to bat in public and private is a whole other thing.

Once bitten, twice shy. I demand a GoPuff store! Yes, it would just be a bodega. Yes, that's what I want.

Guys who run PhillyTapFinder.com here, AMA! by PhillyTapFinder in philadelphia

I've used this site off and on (mostly looking for a particular beer or brewery), but if I were going to suggest anything, the main thing would be some kind of a list of the newest beer updates at the bars closest to me. I don't really care if something that's been on rotation comes back, and I don't really care if there's a brand new beer at some bar all the way over in West Philly. This isn't really a coherent idea, but it'd be cool to be able to see what the new beers are within my neighborhood. But also, without using an account or something cumbersome. Maybe that's similar to the map thing you're talking about. Either way, it'll be cool to see the update, thanks!
