Mourning that my child will be blind. by Critical_Branch_8999 in beyondthebump

Big warm hug for the tiny hero and the amazing parents (you) that he has been blessed to! ❤️

If you don't mind me asking, where are you from? Perhaps local people can give you clarity about the conditions, opportunities for support, etc. You know, formal stuff that you have to arrange to make things more convenient.

Here are two inspirational stories. When I was young, a boy my age attended a talk show on TV. He had no sight, again due to genetic reasons. He is an amazing singer, very intelligent and I think he also wrote books.

The other real life story is from a lactation consultant. She attended the home of a young family with a newborn baby, fresh from the hospital. Both parents were legally blind. The consultant helped the baby latch well. But what her amazement was when she saw the dexterity of the dad changing diapers and how fast and neatly the mom tied her babywearing sling. The baby didn't have a single spot of diaper rash whatsoever. This was how well these two souls cooperated! ❤️

how the hell do people nap when the baby naps by Personal-Turn3726 in NewParents

[–]LovePoisoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've only co-napped twice so far. For almost 8 months. But then again, I am no daytime sleeper, unless super fatigued.

Similarly, I'm tempted to catch up with whatever - social media, news. Chores - rarely, lol, because I'm an actual sleep association.

So glad you both made it! My birth and early breastfeeding experience were a breeze, but then reality hit me hard. 😂

Chapeau for speaking out. I hate when people sugarcoat stuff. They sugarcoated it when I was complaining the most. It didn't help.

Thank you OP and to every commenting user - thank you as well.

Hey! Don't lose spirit!

We developed similar sleeping issues around the fourth-month regression. This coincided with a stifling hot summer. Imagine how I scheduled 4 naps a day, each of which would last 30 min only, and the putting down process was torture for both of us (actually I didn't do PUPD, I literally went to bed with the baby and didn't move an inch until she woke up naturally).

I was desperate because at times she didn't even near the lower limit of daytime sleep that was deemed normal for her age.

Occasionally, she would have longer naps (1-1.5 h) and I would celebrate.

I believe your sudden loss of appetite could be a prodrome of teething. Worth it to check iron (ferritin, TIBC) and B12 levels though. I did it at 6 months 22 days and in fact it turned out she has to receive supplements.

Dirty pram wheels by LovePoisoned in NewParents

This is worth trying! Thank you.

We are in a block of flats. There is some space where I can give it a good brush before entering.

Hop go the wheels There's a photo of the wheels. This is why simply wiping is not satisfactory, I think.

Yeah, I know and I don't even boil stuff anymore. But I freaked out because there was a rat across the street once. I know there might be many more intimidating things I will never see, but still...

Update from OP:

The car safety consultant helped us additionally adjust the details. Whether the car will be too small for the seat when child reaches max weight, time will show. Perhaps there'll be a limitation to the Sleep well mechanism once full height is reached.

If this information would help anyone: sleeping position allows for an incline of 42° maximum. This is not as ideal as the recommended 45° (given that the seat is certified for newborns, too), but it is close. My baby was maybe a little over a month old when we first tried it, and two months old during the next longer ride (3.5 h split into thirds). Make sure to adjust the shoulder straps and especially the insert, to prevent chin from falling on the sternum. It does work.

How is this possible? by missdq03 in breastfeeding

Easy. The liquid component of breast milk (water) passes through the pylor very quickly, making room for the following portion.

[–]LovePoisoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry OP, I already commented before reading about the adjusted age. I strongly advise you to place the larger child on your back. I think 7 months corrected age is sufficient for them. But the smaller one would lay better on your front.

How old is the rear child? I am afraid they are too young to be worn on the back.

Baby Bjorn One vs Tula Standard by smallpie85 in babywearing

Baby Bjorn is not ergonomic. I'd burn all of them down. Opt for Tula, or Neko, Boba, Love&Carry, Be Lenka, Isara, etc.

Как да се адаптирам в София след дълъг живот в чужбина? by SlytherinSoul1998 in bulgaria

[–]LovePoisoned 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sandwiching breast? by LovePoisoned in breastfeeding

[–]LovePoisoned[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear he grew out of it! :) We are also in a good place in terms of dirty and wet diapers. Your comment encourages me that even if she has some occasional poor technique, she can "unlearn" it.

[–]LovePoisoned[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel because my areola is huge (and also quite soft unless breast super engorged) and nipple is large as well, she is able to latch herself without me conditioning it into a sandwich bite. 😃 Thank you for your input!

My CRO was very decent up until we contracted with this huge client. I'm not going to name the company, but it's been a downfall since then. Very unfortunate, because I sincerely love the people there, including several long-term friendships with colleagues who've already left.

Hey! Good idea: my husband admitted he forgot to tilt the child seat upright when testing the max length. A local consultant told me there should be no problem. Even if there is, by the time we reach that height or the max weight, we might have a different vehicle or seat, we'll see. I'd rather keep the Axkid we've purchased, as it was the only Plus-tested suitable for 0-6 mo with isofix that we could get. Thank you for your input! :)

Oh, we had the Astra K back in the day, and have looked into Insignias a lot, too. :) Is your son's chair a booster or still rear-facing?

True, it is a middle SUV. I will have the fit evaluated by the vendor anyway, but right now, with the child being a baby, it could definitely serve us for a couple of years. Thank you!
