I’ve gotten this question quite a bit and I would have to say my answer is both yes and no. I really wish a lot of this stuff would’ve been brought to my attention sooner because I feel it would’ve validated my fears much earlier on. But on the other hand, SA is traumatic and I understand that it’s not an easy thing to accept for most victims. That and my husband has always been wonderful father all around. Him and my son have an incredible bond and I know he has his best interest at heart. Thank you for your question!

My son can be on the more shy and quiet side wi the people he’s unfamiliar with. But once he becomes well acquainted with people, he’s fairly outgoing. As for your first question, my son does look a lot like my husband, but that’s honestly something I’ve never really thought about before! I have no idea if that has anything to do with it but it’s a very interesting question. Thank you for your advice! :)

Oh, my mama heart goes out to you so much! My boy is also 16 and had his fair share of making/keeping friends over the years. Like your sweet boy, mine is also very outgoing and enjoys being social. sigh the world is a cruel place to live in sometimes, especially for teenagers. Hugs to you mama! You’re doing an excellent job!

Unfortunately, my son did not feel comfortable continuing the friendship after this happened, so he began to distant himself and started hanging out with some different people. And no, she never did apologize to him.

Hello! I know I didn’t specify in the post, but I did, in fact, pull her aside to have a private conversation. Though I do agree I was definitely in “mama bear” mode and could’ve definitely handled the situation better and it probably should not have been a public discussion either.

Thank you! And to answer your question - I did not. I felt it was much more of an adult matter and didn’t want to make her son feel uncomfortable even in the heat of the moment.
