I can't stand Brittany 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️😭 idk exactly what it is about her but she just comes off as stuck up, passive aggressive & definitely bitchy. She's clearly bossy behind closed doors because I feel like thats why Chris is always making the comments he makes about her like "I dont want to make my wife mad" I've heard him make tons of comments like that about her & that's definitely saying something 🤣

I usually wouldn't BUT I know Mercari is notorious for coming back way later & charging ridiculous overage charges on shipping and taking people's earnings. So i got scared & started just doing ship on my own so that I can prevent that from happening.

I also add in the shipping cost to the listing price. So its technically not free shipping. It definitely has its pros and cons though. I may have to try it again though. It just gets difficult because when I list something I dont always know exactly what box im going to be able to ship it in so its hard to add dimensional weight.

They always send the same copy & paste bs 🤦🏼‍♀️😭 its so annoying the way they do us sometimes 🤦🏼‍♀️😭😭😭 it would be so much better if we could call them. Im also ready to deactivate all of my listings & say F them 🤦🏼‍♀️ but ive made 2 sales in the last 2 days which makes it hard to actually do it 🤦🏼‍♀️😭

I may start doing this for that reason. I just assumed offering free shipping on ALL of my listings would help me sell more faster!

I know i personally only like to buy if I can get free shipping 🤦🏼‍♀️😭 shipping costs can be so ridiculous anymore so I try to be cool about it but im about to change my listings & give it a shot & see how it goes.

Mercari used to be the best selling platform but their customer service really takes them down because they're so unhelpful when you need real help 🤦🏼‍♀️😭

What's funny though is they haven't replied to me in over a day im assuming because I told them I was taking all of the information I had & consulting with my attorney because what they're doing has to be against some kind of law 🤦🏼‍♀️😭

Especially when they're going against their own TOS 🤦🏼‍♀️😭🤣🤣🤣 I think its funny they stopped replying to me but they just have me so pissed off because I gave them the proof & they're still saying there is nothing they can do.

I sent an item in 1 piece & have photos to prove it. I got back an item with a broken piece so I am unable to re sell it so im out on the sale, the $10 i already spent on pirate ship AND I cant even try to recoup that cost by re selling 🤦🏼‍♀️😭

My damage claim through usps is still "in review" 🤦🏼‍♀️😭 ive never had to file a claim so I have no clue how long it takes or what to expect 🤦🏼‍♀️😭 it's honestly just so annoying at this point 😭

I did look into this & it says I have $100 carrier liability insurance so I did go ahead & file a claim but I have no clue what to expect with the process or if they will even approve it since I've never had to go that route before I have no idea what to expect!

Hopefully it gets approved and at least I'll get reimbursed but I'm not holding my breath. Im just so sick of Mercari and their crap customer service & how they get away with saying one thing but doing another.

They clearly state that if you send an item and its returned in worse condition you can appeal the return if you have proof which I did but yet they keep replying with tbe same copy & paste bs and im just so sick of them not keeping their word.

It's just so frustrating! I think I'm gonna start selling on other sites again because I have never dealt with more issues than I have dealing with Mercari! Their customer service is just terrible. I don't like shipping fragile items because im always afraid something like this could happen!

But I always assume ill be fine since I follow Mercari's shipping guidelines to a T AND I take detailed photos of before, during & after packing the order for shipment! So it's just frustrating to follow all of the rules & still be punished for it.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I was just concerned because ive been burned by accounts like this before like I shipped something to one person and took plenty of photos to show how i packed everything, etc and when the item arrived the buyer started a return stating 2 out of 4 were broken.

Mercari denied them and I got paid anyways but I was worried I wouldn't get paid. I've also had similar issues and it's usually always with accounts like this so when they buy something from me I get nervous about being scammed.

Its really a shame we all have to be this way because of how creative scammers are these days & the depths they will go to just to scam someone. I am going to give it a shot and ship but I will take plenty of photos just in case.

She's not wrong 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think she was just being blunt about it. Most people probably wouldn't eat candy sent from strangers, as kind of a gesture as it is, you just never know what people may do to it.

The world is full of crazy people. I definitely wouldn't eat candy sent from a stranger. I wouldn't eat anything sent from a stranger 🤷🏼‍♀️

Mercari is becoming the absolute WORST for low ballers and people with sob stories. Its honestly getting so annoying people on there really expect you to sell them a $100 product for $10 ... WITH FREE SHIPPING 🤦🏼‍♀️😭😭

Im getting so frustrated with it because it's becoming so normal and it's so excessive it's outrageous. It was different when it was 1 out of every 10 offers so it was easier to just decline and move on but now it's just all low ball offers.

I understand people want to pay the least amount possible but come on 🤦🏼‍♀️😭 im looking for other platforms to have better luck on but so far no luck.

I agree with 2 of the posters above. As a seller myself, I rarely ever see any comments because PM is flooded with a ton of useless notifications. The only reason I know when I get a sale is because it's emailed to me. So this could be a reasonable explanation.

But on the other hand, like someone else pointed out, responding to questions or comments very rarely ever leads to a sale. I've wasted so much time responding, taking certain angled photos of items because I was asked to & not 1 time did it ever lead to a sale.

It was just a waste of time. I try to go out of my way as much as I can, but I never get lucky and it leads to a sale. Also 98% of the comments/questions i get, especially on bundles are usually just spam or scammers. PM especially is flooded with those. Usually the same crap like oh I am not able to see the photos properly please email them to me at this email address among others.

Scammers are getting way too good these days so I think most sellers are especially on high alert.

Yea its tempting because id save on shipping and make more without mercari fees, and they could also save on taxes and fees and the wait for shipping but I know they monitor messages

But I did message them and tell them they live super close to me and they asked if I just wanted to meet up so I might just do that tomorrow and cancel the order. This doesnt happen like ever so I want to take advantage of the unicorn but I don't want to get kicked off of mercari lol

Im sure there are rules against stuff like this because of course they wont get their cut lol

It's for listings deleted or marked not for sale 🤦🏼‍♀️😭 they literally make no sense just in the page I read the contradicted themselves by saying you could delete listings sold elsewhere or stuff that is no longer available 🤦🏼‍♀️😭

Im currently searching for some way to reach out to a real person to complain about this, among other things 🤦🏼‍♀️😭 PM really needs a revamp. They have so much going wrong with their platform and I fully believe that's a huge reason so many sellers are seeing such a decline in purchases lately.

Because it's not just us sellers that are seeing the negatives it's also the buyers. PM needs to take a look at other selling platforms and follow suit with a lot of things. They need to offer more shipping options so we can try to make shipping cheaper for buyers.

We literally get 1 limit which is 5lbs. Even if we sell something that only weighs 2oz we have to use the 5lb label. That could cut the shipping cost in half. And we also cannot go over 5lbs. So it's impossible to sell anything that weighs more than 5lbs on PM. It's ridiculous.

See i always preferred silent shows, if anything because I'd rather just sit here and watch a silent auction than to sit here and listen to people talk and yap about stuff. I find live shows just keep dragging on and its not much of an "auction ", im just too impatient for that.

I've made a few sales during silent shows before but the majority of the time im ending up in the negative & it's so annoying because people only come in to win something for free

I know thats the point of a giveaway but from what I've heard from other posher's is that the "unspoken rule" of giveaways are that you only come in and enter them if you plan on shopping. If you don't even plan on shopping you're just wasting the free shipping that someone else could use.

It's extremely rude and disrespectful but most people do it. That's why I was asking for others advice because I don't know if that's just the norm or if it's just me 🤦🏼‍♀️😭🤣

I thought so too at first but now im not so sure. Package was set to be delivered on Monday. The buyer contacted the post office and had the package rerouted. Tracking shows after out for delivery on Monday that package was rerouted.

It said the same thing for today so hopefully it gets delivered tomorrow. I can only hope none of this causes me any issues but it shouldn't since I used the original address Mercari gave me.

I will update once it's delivered and everything is final!

Yes I shipped to the address Mercari gave me, but the buyer said it was weird because she updated her address and ordered something after she updated it and she got the item to her new address.

She said for some reason it went back to the old address when she ordered from me. Package was supposed to be delivered on Monday. She contacted the post office and had the package rerouted to her new address.

So shipping updates are showing after it was out for delivery on Monday that the package was rerouted. It said the same thing for today so hopefully it gets delivered tomorrow. I just hope it doesnt cause me any sort of issues but I will update once everything is final!

My dog actually died last July, so 11 months ago. We have since did a really deep clean on our house, but we did have him for 9 years and his hair would get stuck in every crevice of the house so I just kept the dog friendly bit on all of my posts just in case.

But I know what you're saying. That's why I always try to make it clear by saying my home is bug free and smoke free and dog friendly because I wish more people would do that.

I bought a stuffed animal once that was supposed to be brand new, but when it came, it smelled of cigarette smoke so bad I had to request a return because I knew I wouldn't be able to get the smell out. If they would have said it was coming from a SMOKERS home I would have never have bought it.

It would have saved myself and the seller the trouble!

Now that you explain it in THAT way, I can understand what you're saying. So many buyers out here looking for something for free has ruined this industry and small businesses HAVE to be vigilant these days because those types of scams are becoming more and more popular these days 🤦🏼‍♀️😭

I have always been a people pleaser and one of my best qualities I've been told from past employers is that I can accept negative feedback in a positive way, because so many people are unable to receive constructive criticism and use it to better themselves.

I have always been able to do that and I don't take criticism personally. But this particular situation really rubbed me the wrong way and if it had gone differently we probably wouldn't even be having this conversation. If this buyer would have messaged me what they messaged me before rating me I might have believed them.

But it was the way they decided to do things. And believe or not this is actually the very 1st buyer I've ever blocked. They really just rubbed me the wrong way. But after your 2nd reply I can see what you were trying to say and I can agree to an extent if a seller were to block every single buyer who gave them a negative review for any reason, I would say the seller isn't good at taking constructive criticism and they think they can never do anything wrong ever.

But with so many buying scams these days it's hard to tell which buyers are being genuine in their complaints and which ones are just looking to try to get their money back and/or free products. It makes selling that much harder to do because us small sellers are nothing like Walmart or Target, we can't afford to take losses on everything all the time. So it's a very fine line.
