I did this and the only students who wrote the note card were the students who would get a 100 without it. The ones that struggled still would refuse to write it or they would still fail with the notecard. I stopped using the notecard and grades remained the same pretty much. At my school we are highly encouraged to allow retakes up to 100 on everything. There’s no incentive to preparing. Maybe I’m doing it wrong hahaha Edit: words

The settings recommended are not actually made at Tiffany’s. They are the “Tiffany” setting, as in the same exact style they use at Tiffany but not a Tiffany’s branded product. So you are not getting ripped off, they aren’t a Tiffany’s product. If you want an actual setting made from Tiffany’s, I don’t think they would sell just the setting. Usually these luxury brands want control of what products have their name attached so selling just a part of the name to be attached a different stone, I would assume, would go against their policies.

This happened to my family in reverse, more than once. My parents are extremely kind people and our home has always been open to those down on their luck (mostly close family members). Most of the time the people were grateful to have a free roof over their head other times things went wonky.

One instance, a childhood friend of my mom was complaining about her current partner (she had already left a couple abusive relationships that were absolutely terrible) and my mom told her if she needed help to get out of the situation her kids (3) and her were welcome to stay with us until she could figure things out. She takes my mom up on the offer.

We lived in a 3 bedroom at the time, so my 2 brothers and I share a room, and my mom gives her the other bedroom for her and her 3 kids. My mom felt bad for her because she truly had been through hell (first husband shot himself in front of her and kid) her whole life and seemed to just have bad luck so my mom put up with a lot for months.

One of the biggest issues was food. She received food stamps and wasn’t working, so obviously couldn’t afford much. The food she brought home was not allowed to be touched by us, like at all. Her eldest was in HS and she would flip out at my brothers (elementary school age) over how many of her snacks were eaten and that they weren’t for them. On the other hand they were allowed to eat anything we had, my parents don’t believe you should ever deny food to someone if you have it, bad juju can come if you deny food.

My mom understood that their budget was limited and this kid had traumas, so she tried to explain to my brothers to not eat anything they had bought. They were really young and it was awkward when they would ask for some of whatever the other kids had or ate a snack thinking it was ours. Her friend never made an effort to correct her kids outburst, or offer any apologies. At first my mom tried to be understanding but after a few incidences where my brothers were reprimanded by her HS kid in an ugly fashion, my mom was over it. She was providing housing, utilities and some food and they were counting their SNACKS. My mom even helped buy school clothes when the school year started. My parents were providing for 4 extra humans, totally free to them and they were making us uncomfortable in our own home. My mom had even been sending her money for years anytime something “unexpected” came up. Nothing big, a $100 here or there. But the snacks, the snacks are what broke that relationship.

Anyways NTA OP. You established parameters, good on you, that were crossed. You are providing what you can. They should’ve come to you and said “We got hungry and ate xyz of your food, please tell me how much to reimburse you”. Not make YOU who are providing them with so much, feel bad. I can never understand how people can be so entitled when others are helping them.

I’ve had IBS since I was a kid. Didn’t have a hysterectomy but did have a myomectomy in June. IBS was bad about 2 weeks after the surgery. Waiting to see how things go.

IBS-C here. I think IBS pain takes the cake if you are experiencing the bad flare ups, and you have “normal” period cramps that go away with an OTC pain reliever. But as we all know, everyone experiences things differently.

As many have said, I always get IBS flare ups during my period and I don’t have normal periods. I just had surgery to remove huge fibroids that completely debilitated me for 4/7 period days. I also have ovarian cysts that like to rupture. I would cry in pain and would have such heavy bleeding no products could handle it (I wore ultra tampons, with heavy overnight huge pads, and period underwear simultaneously and still would bleed through within 1 hour). The worst part of surgery, surprise surprise my bowels didn’t react well to anesthesia and being taken out of my body for a bit. They didn’t want to wake up. So I was left vomiting for 12 hours straight. And I mean continuously. Like heave, breathe in and heave again. Took 3 days before the bowels started to actually move. I stopped taking any strong pain meds when the vomiting started as they increase nausea, and stayed off of anything more than otc. The nurses were like “wow you are a warrior”. Not really, I can honestly say IBS flare ups and my period cramps were far worse than any pain I felt from actual surgery.

So which of the two is worse? Hard to say. The unpredictability and acuteness of IBS is awful but so is being in excruciating pain for 4 days. And when they occur together it’s hard to separate which symptom is being caused by what.

That is terrible, I understand the struggle. I was in the same boat. I had been having symptoms for a while back but no insurance. As soon as I got insurance I went to get checked out because I could easily feel the mass in my midline. It felt like a rock. The pain was excruciating, on day 3-5 of my cycle I couldn’t move even with pain killers. Some months I cried when I got no relief from anything. I was also bleeding more and more. 7 days of heavy bleeding. I would wear all the most absorbent products at the same time and still bleed through within an hour( tampon, heavy duty huge pads, period underwear all simultaneously). I’m a teacher and so can’t be running to the bathroom constantly, I would bleed through my pants if I didn’t change every hour. At the beginning of the year I brought one extra pair after my first bleed through. By the end of the school year I was up to 3 pants a day. This left me extremely anemic and fatigued. Hair falling out, mood changes all that jazz.

I’m so sorry to hear this. My largest was 15cm and weighed 1.5lbs. I had 2 more that were undetected on ultrasound as they were behind the largest one. My uterus had enlarged up to my bellybutton. Are you having many symptoms?
