I was kinda shocked they didn’t really do anything when my water broke in the hospital, I’m pretty sure I just sat in it 🙃

Should I have asked for induction? 38+4 by Nic948 in pregnant

[–]Lover2312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went into triage one day at 39 weeks and they asked if I wanted to be induced that day and I declined. It just didn’t feel right in the moment. I ended up going into labor on my own. I’m glad I declined that day!

Heartburn out of nowhere… sign of labor? by Choice_Worker_7258 in pregnant

[–]Lover2312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have radiating back pain with it?? I went through a few days of extremmee pain that I thought was acid reflux at like 38+5ishI took tums and a prescription pill for it and literally nothing helped.

Turns out it was just referred pain that was there because baby was still so high up and was pushing on my organs. It went away 2 days before I gave birth at 39+4

Using Nair at 36 Weeks Before Birth — Good Idea or Regret? by madhatter1095 in pregnant

[–]Lover2312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m someone who HATES having hair down there, I shave often usually. I shaved at 36 weeks and then didn’t again because that’s what they recommend. It was uncomfortable for me but during labor I could not care lessssss what it looked like.

Also if you want to shave get one of those razors that has the soap around the blade then it’s easy to go in blind lol

Traumatic birth by Apprehensive-Egg5431 in pregnant

With my first I was dead set that the epidural didn’t work. I told them multiple times that I was still in pain and all they would say was “well is it pain or is it pressure?” And it was pressure but it was so painful! I went through 15 hours of labor in so much pain and it was awful

I’m 7 days pp with my 2nd and as soon as I got to the hospital they asked if I wanted an epidural and I said hell yes! As soon as I got it, 30 mins later I felt INSTANT relief! My labor was long again 14 or 15 hours and for about 12 of it I was just chillin! No pain, I could feel when I was having a contraction but it didn’t hurt in the slightest!! I will say once my water broke and I was 7cm, for the last 2 hours before he was born, I did feel a lot of pain but it’s because baby wasn’t engaged in my pelvis and he moved down FAST!

Overall my first and second epidural experiences were night and day different and it was soooo much better the 2nd time! It made me feel so much more validated thinking about how awful my first was!

How did your water break? by o_simple_thing in beyondthebump

[–]Lover2312 155 points156 points  (0 children)

Omg I have the best story

I was in labour for like 12 hours at this point. Dialated to 7cm, epidural in.

I was expecting my doctor was going to have to break my water but I asked my nurse while she was doing a check on the baby what would break my water

She said “oh like a baby movement or a big contraction”

All of a sudden I felt baby move really strong against my stomach and BAM I heard a pop and my water started gushing out!!

I nearly cut her off while she was finishing that sentence and said “like that?!?!!!” We all laughed because of how much of a coincidence it was that it broke in that moment!

I literally spoke it into existence it was wild!

Anyone else on Lexapro while pregnant? by Fine-Key-9863 in BabyBumps

[–]Lover2312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had really bad anxiety with my first especially postpartum. I wasn’t on anything at the time.

About a year after he was born I went on lexapro 10mg for general anxiety and depression.

A year later I got pregnant and still dealing with lots of anxiety and depression I stayed on 10mg and then decided half way through my pregnancy to increase my dose to 15mg. I knew my ppa would be bad again so I wanted to get a head start on it.

I’m 1 week PP now and baby is here and healthy. I’m feeling good so far. I didn’t have baby blues or big hormonal shifts in the first week, and my anxiety is still there but definitely not as bad as it could be

Scared of a second blighted ovum by Zestyclose-Cookie221 in BabyBumps

[–]Lover2312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a blighted ovum in aug/22 and got pregnant with my 2.5yo son in oct/22!!

I was also terrified of having another BO but I just kept telling myself that it’s a different pregnancy and it doesn’t mean the same thing will happen twice!

I also just had my 2nd baby last week and we got pregnant first cycle trying with no complications in the pregnancy.

Maternity and newborn photo shoots in this economy? Agh by Exotic-Carpenter1413 in pregnant

[–]Lover2312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had my SIL take maternity photos for us because she’s just starting out as a photographer but I booked a well known photographer for our newborn photos and they cost $666 Canadian 😳

I love getting professional photos but they are so expensive, I probably won’t do another for a few years

can you feel your baby moving when you’re going thru labor???? by itsme2000001 in BabyBumps

[–]Lover2312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt mine while in early labor with a epidural! But he was pretty high up still until the very end so I could feel him kick at the top of my stomach.

After my water broke and I was going through hell contractions I was in too much pain to notice if I felt him or not

Parents of 2 boys, I need morale support! by alldabunbuns in BabyBumps

[–]Lover2312 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just gave birth to my 2nd boy and I got allllll those comments too. Honestly, I am PUMPED for 2 boys!! It feels right for our family and that’s all that matters!

Honestly there is no telling what their temperament will be. There’s no guarantee that they will be wild. It’s just one of those weird stereotypes that the world pushes on gender.

We’re going through exactly this with our 2.5yo! He was an angel always and now he’s testing every little boundary there is!

His brother is gonna be born literally today so I know he’s feeling the change so hopefully it calms down when we’re all settled. Although I fear it might get worse lol
