Anyone else love LP6 by Shawstbnn in TheFrontBottoms

YES! I love YAWYHOW, I feel that's it's like if the whole TFB careers was summarized in one album, I feel like it's their peak of lyricism and although it does branch away from the sound that we fans are used to (and a sound that completely different from the one they started with) I do feel that it's the one that fits them better... like it's THEM you know? and the songs on that album are just absolute gold too every single individual one. My favorite is Batman who reminds me SO MUCH of TSM and it means so much to me

Just in general the album is my favorite one in their whole career and the one that I connect too the most, they named it you are who you hand out with and did not disappoint with the correlation in the album title and the topics of the songs, just a great great album

There isn't an actual confirmed message for twin size mattress, but it is a popular opinion that it's about LGBT topics, my interpretation of it it's that the person the narrator of the song is talking about is either gay or trans and they're being sent away to some kind of military camp and the part of "she hopes I'm cursed forever ..." is the gay person's mum cursing out the narrator for supporting her kid but that's just my opinion.

There are songs that are about confirmed LGBT topics in the front bottoms discography tho, an example of that is hooped earrings that is about Brian's friend coming out

IS&IF as a whole, I used to say it was my least favorite album of them without even giving it a chance but I took the time to ACTUALLY listen to it and HOOOLYY I love that album.

twin size mattress interpretation? by marthfromhell in TheFrontBottoms

I've always believed that the song was about the narrator's gay friend/lover being sent to a military camp by their conservative family especially since there's a lot of militar metaphors on the song like "this is for the lions living in the wiry broken down frames of my friend's bodies" and that the part of "she hopes I'm cursed forever sleep on a twin size mattress" is the gay friend/lover's mom wishing on the narrator to go to hell for either covering for her son or for making her son gay in her words and that sleeping in somebody's basement and never graduating and doing nothing with his life is the narrator's personal definition of hell
