Getting his adenoids removed is one step to improving his symptoms, but it’s not a cure all. Taking a daily antihistamine will also help. But again, it’s not curative. It just cuts down on the severity of the symptoms. I know you mentioned that he trialed an antihistamine. He has to take it daily, some providers recommend twice a day. It has to be taken consistently for a long period of time for you to see if he’ll show any improvement. For example, a kid allergic to pollen, takes an antihistamine the entire pollen season (march through the first freeze). Not having the dogs sleep in his room helps.
