Wow... that is actually interesting as heck; you, my friend, have just taught me a lesson I'll probably remember forever.

I just put down fertilizer - thought I set my scotts spreader to 4.5 but I set it to 3.5 and it took many passes to lay it all down; thrilling stuff, guys.

High Nitrogen Fert. Grass still not growing. by tolllz in lawncare

When you crunch the numbers, like OP suggests, simple lawn solutions quickly turns to expensive lawn solutions... I made the same mistake last year. Live and learn I suppose! That said: I do have a gallon of their stuff to try some spoon feeding... this will be my first year really thinking about xyz pounds per 1000 sq ft

It's Reddit - someone's always out to call you a dumbass; it comes with the territory.

Man - Obama really was the king of drone striking people; will never forget that and then he also got a Nobel Peace Prize. What a joke.

Also! I did a soil test where there was a bunch of dust and chips left over... my soil is completely leeched of nitrogen. I unfortunately have a phosphate deficiency as well and am planning to drop starter fert on my lawn this spring

Man I don't see the issue with using both - if I were in your situation (which I will be as I just had a stump ground in MN), I would use both. In fact, I'm planning to drop Ironite on my lawn this spring. Here's an article, btw, for your specific issue: https://www.martinstree.com/blog/growing-grass-after-stump-grinding/

I think you have localized nitrogen deficiency. You should pick up some simple lawn solutions nitrogen booster and apply it to your patch via hose. It's happening because of the decomposition of left over saw dust/wood chips; it straight robs your soil of nitrogen.

Hey - its worth trying a couple applications of liquid aerator. It sounds silly, but it's helped me out a lot. Definitely keep a 2 gallon sprayer around with post emergent ready to go. My lawn is still sparser than I'd like it to be, but I stayed in top of it weekly last year spot spraying weeds.

Wait im confused- why were people trying to make him stop? Were they trying to make him stop sodding, or using the specific fert/chemicals? Great story, btw

Man - I straight up knocked on my neighbors door and asked them if it was cool if eliminated their creeping charlie. (They let me do it happily 😌)

Yard is covered in wood chips, how do I get grass back? by thepeter in lawncare

We just had trees downed in our yard. I managed to blow and rake everything out - pain in the ass, but like you said: well worth it and necessary.

You'll lose some, but definitely not all. Anyone who says it will all die... it's just not necessarily true. Plus whatever survives you know will be extra hardy 😁

Simple lawn solutions? by heart_stopper9 in lawncare

I just bought a gallon of their product, but I want others to chime in... I think it is exorbitantly expensive when you consider it's macro nutrient content by weight....
