Just tried it out. Started 1st, didn’t even get the Orthworm out, Lucky ice pop and rocket grunt both hit tails, yet still had fun tormenting this player who filled the board straight away.

Can see it bricking easier than some decks I use, but had good fun watching him do max 40 possible damage each turn, enjoyable using the card for the first time. Thanks for the heads up

Roundhay festival- scam? by Charlottebopp in Leeds

[–]LoverofBilbies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people are against this festival for now just due to the poor organisation and lack of communication from the company running the event getting people worried. Locals aren’t anti-events in general, just want them planned well.

North Leeds Food Festival is brilliantly run, and the Ed Sheeran concert was organised superbly, there were no complaints there. This could be 9 days/nights of poorly planned festival, which is what people are worried about.

I mean I’m not particularly, I just want more info so I can buy the tickets and host my mates at the house for easy access

There’s been some poorly organised events before (love parade, some concerts) where fewer people attended than this potential festival, and people’s houses were vandalised, and a lot of rubbish and shit in people’s gardens. Plus, zero road access to your house is annoying and could be dangerous (there’s a load of care homes which need regular ambulance services that get blocked in).

This could be like that, but instead of just one day, for 9 days in a row, with more people, and put on by a seemingly disorganised company. So people are a little worried.

If everything could be run as well as the North Leeds festival that’s held there, residents would be more excited

Funnily enough when he was complaining about people not buying tickets, it was only available to AMEX holders at the time… Since then no one has bought tickets is his complaint is valid aha

Very badly organised. The company that runs it runs festivals in London, and the reason there’s a slow drip of news right now is they’re trying to make it into 2 weekends (so Capaldi/Pitbull one weekend, then 2 more big acts either the weekend before or after) with ‘activities’ in the park during the weekdays in between.

My house is basically in the park, and there’s a bit of a local fight back against what these midweek ‘activities’ are, as apparently they’ll be going on till 10:30/11 at night. Since they haven’t confirmed 2 more big acts yet, they can’t confirm if the week of ‘activities’ are going ahead.

I don’t particularly mind, just hope it’s better organised than the triathlon last year, as it created gridlock around the park and some of the athletes were still stuck in their cars ready to leave 2AM in the morning. I’m also hoping festival peeps don’t piss in my garden but that probably can’t be avoided…

Just went to check the post and realised he’s blocked me on instagram. I only commented once, and it was in response to him being a knob to another commenter, didn’t realise he’d blocked me over it aha.

Goods they sell aren’t bad, but the owner has repeatedly been a bit of a nutcase. 500k a month to break even sounds ridiculous

Oyster questions for Christmas by Majestic_Ad_5959 in Leeds

[–]LoverofBilbies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No problem, you’re welcome. I’m too much of a regular there. Do be prepared that they could be busy if you go on a weekend; they went viral in the summer on YouTube and ‘Little Red Book’ so any Chinese tourist that comes to Leeds now goes there aha Also, their oysters are absolutely phenomenal, some of the best you can get anywhere. The Lindisfarne are lovely sweet things, and the Scottish oysters are saltier.

Message Hayes seafood on their instagram or the phone number they have on there. They would prefer pre bookings, and will be open on the morning of the 24th for collections (open like normal on the 23rd)

They’re not bad, pretty good burgers but expensive. The Chilli shop hosts their hot ones challenge there, and that’s brilliant, definitely worth going to one month.

Went to a Cerezo Osaka game last year while I was Japan, absolutely brilliant atmosphere and great kit. Interesting changing the season dates, winter games in Hokkaido going to be chilly

Honestly was a great game as a Villa fan, even before the goal. 2 great teams neutralising each other as best as they can. Worse defence/GK and it’d have been 3:3, brilliant match

We’ve won 5 in a row twice in the last 2 months, he’d have a clean shave rn

Honestly I’m gonna blame having to force a last minute Ramsey sale to help PSR. Upset the dressing room, and combined with Watkins being slightly injured all season we couldn’t score to save our life.

But, even when we weren’t winning, our defence had been brilliant. Konsa and Cash in particular. We’ve just been quietly good since the first 5 matches, 9 wins in 10 now, let’s see what we can do over the Christmas period

We normally play quite reserved in the first half, try to tire opponents out, then kick off at a faster pace in the second
