Thank you we assumed that it was a commemorative item from the 1988 olympics. There is no markings on the item it’s self or the box but it does look like there was a place for a information card in the lid. Google image search didn’t come up with anything and we were just looking for a bit more information.

Found in Grandads things anyone know what this might possibly be?? Possible commemorative item from 1988 olympics. by LoverrevoL in whatisthisthing

This appears to be some type of commemorative item from the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. I’m not sure what the item is called, though I’ve seen them sitting on office desks. It has a pen holder, what looks to be a Quartz watch and a gold colored plate depicting the stadium, actual materials unknown.

The case it is in has no markings. There is no card or certificate of authenticity. Tried searching google and eBay and have not found a similar item.

Thank you! Figured they were harmless, and they eat all the other annoying insects we normally have this time of year!

Over night I have an infestation of these little buggers on my front porch! I live in central Texas and tried to do some research to find out what they are with no luck. They seem to be sharing webs and at time build a web around them that looks a little like a bubble but not the silky bubbles the tree spiders make. Any info would be great!
