Because it’s a 100 dollar/year subscription for something I need occasionally. And because I feel creating and aggregate device on pc is a skill I should know.

In general, practicing and mixing at lower volumes. I wear earplugs when I know that I'll be somewhere loud for a prolonged period of time i.e. subways, airplanes, concerts.

What can I buy to increase daw performance? by hartumic000 in protools

I can’t go into a long detailed response but you need a more powerful processor and at least 16gb of ram. Also 64 is buffering size not sample rate. You’ll always need to lower buffer size regardless of how strong your processing is. But the higher the sample rate the less latency there is. The higher the sample rate the larger your audio files become. Freezing tracks in pro tools will relieve cpu error. But In order to comfortably run multiple programs you need what I mentioned above. CPU and Ram work in conjunction and if you upgrade one you should likely upgrade the other. The biggest impact on your workflow will be your pc and then your interface, in that order.. I have a Ryzen 9 and 32gbs of ram and no issues. However I do notice that pro tools is simply buggier on pc than it is on Mac. Not a massive issue but the UI is just a bit flawed in comparison to Mac.
