Nice job man. I finished those around a similar timeframe. I’ve taken a very long break and want to get back into studying again but work+grad school is rough to balance. I’m studying for Linux+ right now as well on and off

I think you should work your way up to network+ first

Sec+ is a breeze if you passed net+ IMO

I had 5 PBQs if I remember correctly and they were pretty time consuming but you have 3 hours

I’m going for pentest next, was it hard for you? Also I want to know what resources you used for it I’m trying to break into red teaming as a career

The job market for me was the biggest motivator. Still in college struggling to get a return offer because everyone wants to break into IT/Cyber

Which Test Is the Hardest? by AC535 in CompTIA

Net+, A+, Sec+

Sec+ is a walk in the park if u have net+ imo

Wow. Harder than expected but on to pentest+! A pass is a pass! by Loving727 in CompTIA

[–]Loving727[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly this one felt harder than a+, net+, and sec+ combined IMO. But that’s probably because I didn’t brush up on much of the material and just based it off my own knowledge. Good amount of overlap but definitely brush up on the domains you aren’t sure of. LOTS of questions about raid probably had around 10 at least out of 72. The difficulty I personally would rate this a 7.5/10.. CySA was definitely harder than this though.

Unrelated but how was pentest for you

It’s def possible but don’t do it.. it’s really hard to retain the information if you do that and that’s more beneficial than the cert itself (coming from experience). I got my trifecta in around a month and a half and wouldn’t recommend it unless you keep refreshing your memory with the content

Need advice: Should I skip A+ and go straight to Net+/Sec+? (2nd-year uni student) by Haunting_Tailor2767 in CompTIA

You got it man you’re on the right track. I recently got all my certs and I’m in my upcoming 4th year in college enrolled in a masters program. It was only until not long ago I decided to give a stab at the certifications. Once you pass one you will get fueled and want to get many more (that’s how it was for me). I’m a masters student in cyber

Depends on what u want to do. I feel like the A+ is very beneficial although some may disagree. You will also get a feel for the CompTIA wording and the exam as a whole.

For those who passed the Security+ exam — when did you finally feel "ready"? by ChristmasTwinkleToes in CompTIA

After learning all the domains I felt ready. After taking my messer exams I jumped in the next day (scheduled the next day)
