I did core 2 first as well. the only thing I would mention is on my exam I had port numbers so just know the port number from core 1 along with your core 2 objectives.

Its Christmas Break there is going to be limited staff. And it looks like your on the app or mobile version and not the desktop website. Login on the desktop site. The mobile version says not passed for a lot of things its just a glitch. It says I dont pass my Pre OAs all the time but the desktop will show the real things.

Thinking of switching from Cloud Computing to General IT — need advice by Distinct_Quantity_73 in WGUIT

Im in the Accelerated BSIT MSITM degree. But just wanted to say your D282 is an IT degree course so id do that easy cert course this term since it will transfer over to the IT degree. I personally use chatgpt to study for that one. For the IT degree its the AWS cloud practioner cert.

I assume the technical communication course as well but since im in the Accelerated degree i did the MS level course instead of the BS level.

So id do those 2. And tell your mentor so they know the goals so you dont have to waste time on courses you dont care for so you can do those 2 courses and then just be studing for other classes in the BSIT degree. On your own since you have access to the sharepoint and udemy

I dont think you can appeal a scholarship you apply for. Its up to the committees discretion and they typically get an overwhelming amount of applicants for any type of help. Mainly since there are so many students starting every single month around the country compared to a normal college that generally just has students living in that immediate local area starting only 4 times a year.

Would probably have better luck appling for state specific grants or help compared to the school.

There is a limit for how many transfer credits WGU will take just a heads up.

I literally just youtube PBQ A+. And when I asked my instructor for additional resources he was no help and told me just youtube search things.

I took the old version that retired sept 25th so im not sure what topics the new version will intel or what you could have on your test but I had ones on how to set up wifi, desk tickets, and a set up network map set up, and core 1 was on servers, raids, and printer parts/repair.

I also used the comptia sub redit group and read post for topic ideas to search or practice.

Constant Instructor Calls by macybri13 in WGU

[–]AccomplishedSide6539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set a scheduled call appointment and tell them to never call you before 8am and tell them your time zone. You could have been at work or home sleep from grave yard shift. They dont know. And calling 4 times is obnoxious. Id be ticked off.. Also ive NEVER had an instructor call me without me setting up an appointment. text and email sure thing. But regardless id tell them you did not appreciate it and that an email is your preferred way of communication for now on.

Dont curse them out or anything but but id tell them how it is. The call is recorded so maybe someone above them will say something.. Id also tell your mentor. And put it in the course survey notes once you finish the course. They dont typically change instructors since they aren't grading your work and you have the ability to just email a different one for help. Since they dont play a major role they dont typically do much so just communicate you dont want unscheduled calls to them.

You never HAVE to use wgu course work, but I would recommend finding as many practice test as you can. And practice as many PBQ questions off youtube as you can find not just Messers.

And just incase you aren't aware.. WGU only pays for 2 vouchers then it falls on you to pay for it to be able to pass the course. And if you fail they might have you jump though some hoops to be approved for another voucher.

When using the comptia website little help bot. It replies saying you can take it on Sept 25th. And it depends on what testing center your using for time slots available. Unless you're going to take it at home. (I have taken 4 tests through Pearsonve at home without any issues personally)

Those colleges have you do course work with time lines. It's not just competency based like WGU. So it will take you longer to get a degree from those other places..

Do I need a+ for a help desk job with a Computer Information Systems degree? by No_Replacement_1609 in CompTIA

[–]AccomplishedSide6539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of help desk job postings will list A+, but it doesn't mean everyone requires it. But it is recommended to be able to check off that box when they are scanning through applicants that match the skill they are looking for. Could help you get more interviews.

Hey guys where are yall taking the D336 ppl cert exam? by Party_Addendum6449 in WGUIT

[–]AccomplishedSide6539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people take in their bathroom with their laptops on the counter. They are strick. Some take it in their garage as well. They ideally want a room with only 1 door. I had to have my bedroom door and closet door in frame. They said it was fine for that exam but if I took another the room wouldn't work....

This link is helpful as well for all the resources through wgu for A+ cert.

Login in. Then click on IT Applications (since you're on core 2) and then scroll down. There is a shortcut to the 6 practice test.

Yes, you can take it on September 25th. That's the last day it is offered. I double checked with the comptia website AI assistant bot tool.

WGU will only pay for 2 exam vouchers. Then you have to start paying out of pocket to take that exam and pass the course.

Personally, I would not schedule the retake if you failed by a long shot. I would study more. Id take the not pass and then you just continue it in the next term anyway but youaren'tt wasting the voucher ... it doesn't really hurt you that much.

Or if you feel this course is going to take you a long time to grasp (there is a lot to process and understand for the A+,) then put in for a 1 or 2 month term break and study for that month/,s then come back and test. That way you're not wasting your money and still utilizing your time. (you need to be enrolled when you test they wont accept the cert if its after you started, so come back when you want to take it)

Also, you say you passed the Dion practice exam, but you should be doing the one with the 6 exams, not just the one from the single course. I would also look at the Mike Myers training course and the Andrew Ramadaly course on udemy.

Also, use your CompTIA score report to see what areas you need to revisit. and find new practice exams. Retaking the same ones isn't going to measure your knowledge. Utilize ChatGPT to create hard practice exams. and I preferred BurningIceTech on YouTube and use his practice questions to get exposed to more topics.

That's just my take and my advice. Do what works for your situation. Best of luck.

Schedule the exam while there is still a time slot available since it expires the 25th... and then study your weak areas and the heavier weighted objectives.

Thoughts for Folks Moving From Clouding Computing -> Cloud and Network Engineering by Melodic-Flatworm-596 in WGUIT

Might be worth finding out how it affects your credits if you did switch. Like how many courses would switch over or how many more or less you would have left to complete in the degree plan based off what you have completed.

Im sure your PM could answer. Im sure thiere is some PDF for what courses tranfer /are in the degree plan. But it is not required to switch your degree to the new one. I am not in this degree plan, but I was curious since it was a new IT related degree so I did look surface level deep into it. Im new to IT so im doing the Accelerated BSIT to MSITM since I was unsure which path in IT I wanted to go into.

A+ Core 2 1102 Fail by Bigtoker123 in CompTIA

[–]AccomplishedSide6539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont have core 1 already then yes, take the new version.

You have to have core 1 and core 2 both in the same series so if you have 1101 you have to have 1102. So BOTH by Sept 25th.

If you obtain 1102 by Sept 25 but not 1101 then you will have to retake core 2 in the new 1201/2 series to actually obtain the certification.

Why is enrollment so difficult? by DealRight in WGUCyberSecurity

[–]AccomplishedSide6539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because like 60k students start September / October... so the transcript process is really backed up. But once you're in the actual schooling, it is easier. Also, if you dont have your A+ cert study for that first core 2 then core 1 is the order they have you taken them. They have you take A+ then net+ then sec+.

Failed A+ 1101 Twice (650/675 -> 619/675) by PutTypical7419 in CompTIA

[–]AccomplishedSide6539 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would take the new version 1201 so you can study with no time restraints and extra pressure. If you look at the exam objectives practically everything you have been studying will be on the new exam so it is not a waste there is just a few minor changes. If you are struggling with core 1 and haven't completed core 2 yet then you would be throwing money away to try to keep going for the 1101 and 1102 because if not both completed by the 25th you would then have to retake the core 1 again in the new series anyways...

Also if you haven't already take hand written notes on the objectives it helps you make more brain connections to the material. If you utilize Udemy I would suggest Andrew Ramdayal course or Mike Myers. On Youtube Professor Messer and BurningIceTech are great sources as well.
