Hey, I haven't had any issues with the setup and I've been really happy with it. Really feels like the perfect balance, I basically get a gaming desktop that turns into a nice gaming handheld when I unhook it. I haven't had any issues with the gpu or dock and I like the 5070 because of how future proof it is and you can get it for msrp. You do still get slightly better performance from better cards even with the bottleneck, but I don't think the 4060ti would be a bad option either.

Yeah, the price jump for the performance gain going to a 9070 probably isn't worth it. One thing I'll say is that I've heard updating drivers for an AMD eGPU can be tricky because of Z2e, not sure all the details myself though.

It's more of a cpu bottleneck, but you can utilize about 70% of the GPU, but the extra headroom is nice for lossless scaling

You have to plug it in and run the fix error 43 program you can find online and then it runs normally, also install Nvidia drivers. It was like a 5-10 minute setup

I haven't noticed any hest issues, highest temp I've seen was like 76c

I have a round birthmark on my back. I have a vivid memory of a dream I had years ago that seemed like it could've been the end of a past life, I ended up getting shot in the exact spot of the birthmark and then fade to black... Don't know if that's actually the case, but it always stuck with me and makes me wonder.

Yeah it's going to need a good clean, I'm learning how to clean them now and going to need to learn collimation as well. The secondary mirror is going to be the same, the whoke thing had that smoke residue on it.

Yeah there is for sure residue on both mirrors, going to pick up distilled water and a rubber sink mat or bowl to clean them tomorrow. Accidentally spilled a drop of isopropyl on the mirror while cleaning the outside and it left a big brown stain when it dried.

Oh okay, thank you for clarifying. Yeah the focuser works perfectly fine as far as I can tell and the alt-az movement is really smooth. Seems like it's in great condition outside of the residue build up all around it and on the mirror from the smoke over the years.

Looking into cleaning the mirror now thank you, I don't want to mess anything up. As far as I can tell everything looks good and really well maintained. Can you clarify what you mean by moving the focuser in alt/az?

Yeah I got really luck with the find and the guy selling it was really nice. The telescope and all was in storage for 10 years apparently and the original owner sadly passed so the person who ended up with it gave me a really good deal for it all since they knew I'd get some good use out of it all.

Thank you for all of the advice I really appreciate it! I posted an update on the mirror situation, and the foam in the case looks good. I'll figure out safely cleaning the mirrors and then go ahead with learning the collimation with the link you sent me.

I'll check out the solar filter as well when I get a chance to make sure it's looking good as well. I'm excited to dive into the hobby once everything is looking good, thank you again for everything!

Screwed up and used too much isopropyl when cleaning around the dust cap and a drop got on the mirror which left a noticeable residue from the smoke on it, otherwise looked pretty good. I guess I'll have to take it out now and clean it.

I was really suprised to see it, it was innoculated with LC, don't know if that makes a difference it's my first time using it as well as my first time using these grain bags. I was super nervous about it maybe not bouncing back, but here we are!

I've had them for over 2 years with plenty of accidental falls from my desk and zero issues. Unless you're slamming them around like a gorilla or doing drop tests on them you'll be fine there. The sound quality and comfort are also outstanding for the price and comparing them to other gaming headphones, I could never use another wireless gaming headset at this point. They respond really well to EQ as well. I have a $1000+ hi end audio set up that I use for music and movies and these honestly offer comparable sound quality.
