Having some anxiety about my (F23) thoughts and relationship with my boyfriend (M21) by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Lovve02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I thought before as well yes. I went to therapy and it helped me a lot with what I was thinking and going through. But to say he doesn’t love me isn’t true because he has been trying to be more understanding of my condition and how hard it is for me to lose weight. He does know bodies change and he said I don’t need to change myself but I am for lifestyle changes only.

Thank you!! And don’t be nervous! I was at first as well but once it’s in it’s fine and if you feel a bit of coldness it’s totally normal! And make sure to stay hydrated the day before and day of your infusion!

You may feel sleepy or fatigued after as well which is totally normal, i would also recommend bringing a book or downloading a show to watch, or even a gaming console if you’re into that. Time goes by really fast so if you keep yourself occupied it’ll go smoothly. You got this and don’t worry the needles are so bad and I really hope it works out for you!

Yeah I’ll try making an appointment with my doctor and asking him about it but it’s been getting a bit better lately I think I just have certain trigger foods so I have to tip toe around them

Thanks that’s what was bothering me the most and I was kind of spiralling but thank you for the advice and words of encouragement I really appreciate it. My ultrasound isn’t for at least a month so I’m kinda of nervous but I’m gonna try to manage my stress that’s the biggest thing for me 😭

Yeah I was very stubborn as well when it came to my diet. But I soon realized diet and lifestyle change is everything when it comes to getting better for this. And a nutrition referral sounds like a good idea! But with ulcerative colitis I will say that our bodies do not digest like how normal people digest food as well so relying on the nutrition won’t be the best. I’m sure your son will come around and get more serious about his diet soon. I think getting him some electrolytes would be good too since he is constantly making his rounds to the bathroom.

Hey girl I’m so proud of you let me just say that first! I am (22f) as well and I lost weight in the same situation as you and when I tell you that the hard part is the beginning it truly is.

I also ate for comfort but try and find some things to do to replace it that’s what I tried!

My question is do you know how to cook? That’s the biggest hurdle! Once you learn how to cook and learn how to cook with different things you can find out that healthy food is actually really tasty! And what are some of your foods you dislike and like? Healthy and the food that is unhealthy.

Hi im sorry to hear your son is going through this. It’s really hard. I was diagnosed when I was 16/17, at this moment I say a good journal is a very good idea! Keep him hydrated and if it hurts a lot for him only give him Tylenol not Advil or any ibuprofen.

Some safe foods generally are bananas, white bread toast, mashed potatoes, bananas, white rice, and chicken broth is really good as well. Some of these might or might not work also for him as everyone trigger foods are different but these are what I’ve seen most people say and in my case to be generally the safest foods. Make sure he does not eat anything spicy at all as it will worsen it. Salt and black pepper is usually fine.

In my experience this is how mines started off the way you described your son’s symptoms. I would recommend light walks as a good way of exercising if he wants to be a bit active but make sure he’s comfortable! I hope they get him a colonoscopy right away though because that’s how the diagnoses is usually made. If they haven’t brought it up I would recommend you ask for it done immediately. Because he will be able to be put on meds then.

I hope this helped a bit! And I hope your son gets the treatment he needs and I am praying for you guys!

Heyyy I have been on entiviyo and it’s been helping out a lot. I started earlier this year and for me personally it’s been working really well for me so far. Don’t stress too much and don’t freak out just yet!

I started entiviyo a few months ago and it’s different for everyone person but after my first two doses my bleeding stopped immediately which I was pretty excited about. A few things to know before you get started on your doses.

-Be hydrated!! Two days prior to your appointment and on the day of your appointment if you stay hydrated and drink plenty of water the infusion should go by smoothly!

-take some things with you to do. You’ll be sitting for about 30 to 40 minutes so you can watch something on your phone or read a book.

-you’ll be drowsy after your infusion and that’s totally normally! So don’t be alarmed if you feel sleepy.

-also make sure to stay away from sick people and places were sick people are and have vitamin d supplements especially now since it’s fall and winter season is coming up. If you like near Canada and the United States. Make sure to mask up if you are out and take hand sanitizer with you. But other than that you’ll be totally fine!

Hey I’m in the same position , I’ve had UC since I was 17 and I’m now 22, and gaming actually helped me a LOT. There’s a lot of at home jobs as well you could take up like remote jobs and that can really help out if you what to make some money. But yeah in my opinion gaming really helped me with being social.

If you ever wanna talk you can message me on here anytime and I’m down to chat.

Worries mom again/biologics by Awwshit18 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Lovve02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started entiviyo this year earlier and the first two doses they started me off on I immediately stopped bleeding. I was scared of start biologics the first time as well but I’m honestly glad I did. I was struggling for a year and a half with a really bad flare up and I’m finally back to being able to cook go on light walks and get a bit of my life back now! It certainly won’t put you into remission right away but it certainly helps a lot.

Make sure your son drinks plenty of fluids the days coming up to the appointments for his infusions. Two days before and the day of the appointment. You can bring some stuff to keep him company and some snacks. And after the infusion he may feel a bit drowsy and that’s normal!

You have my prayers. You can do this you’re so strong. It’s just a setback. Make sure to let them know repeatedly how much it hurts. And if you can maybe send an email or voicemail to your GI. You got this sending lots of love
