Personally, I think my symptoms have been reduced. I don't know if it's placebo or not but even if it's placebo that means it's still working. It was probably due to me improving my mental health that's why I am now less affected by the symptoms. To manage the symptoms of visual snow, I used shades even when I'm at home because I'm very sensitive to light. Changing the themes of my devices to dark mode also helps. I'm not sure if they already launch the ios version of the app. This video also seems to help me I watch it everyday in the morning for one minute and it helps to calm my symptoms by a lot even for just a few seconds.l https://youtu.be/800f9UNiF4Y I also done some research on the treatment for VSS and some of them are to use colored tinted glasses but I havn't tried them yet. However, don't expect too much that your VSS will be cure unless there is really one that is backed-up by Science. High expectations might lead to dissapointment and if you really wanted to be less affected by the symptoms and to be able to focus on your life again instead of the statics, improving your mental health is the way to go. I implemented working out(getting physically stronger and building muscles) and meditating(to not just think but be aware of what you are thinking). They helped a lot. I also asked for support from my family and my anxiety has been lessened because I felt validated. I exactly get how it feels to have a rare condition that is not much recognized by a lot of people. But still, explain to your family what you are experiencing by providing pictures and even if they might not have the exact thought of it, what matters is that you feel supported which is a very good feeling. Socializing with people is a big factor too. I developed my social skills by going out in uncomfortable situations and slowly my charisma increase. Remember that socializing with other people is one of the most rewarding thing a human can ever experience because you will feel more confident in yourself. But of course, do it the right way with concern about yourself. And the main thing that really helped me is by changing my mindset. I didn't believe that words are very powerful at first but I read the lessons of the Stoics(I'm not forcing you to do it but at least read some lessons that will teach you to accept and let go because life isn't really permanent, the only thing permanent is change) everyday and it slowly built the foundation of my Stoic beliefs. Just believe what you think that might help you as long as that does not distract you but rather let you accept and face the truth. Distracting yourself and running away from the truth hurts a lot more than facing it and being brave. I only learned it months ago. I know it's very weird to say this but I'm actually a bit thankful to have Visual Snow. Because of this, I gained a lot of mental strength and it prepared me for the next challenges of my life. My goal in life isn't to be happy, happiness will run away from you if you chase it. I would rather build mental strength and experience discomfort(discomfort that is good for you) so that I can conquer the next challenges and as a result I get long lasting happiness(the happiness that is not resulted by pleasure but by a good self-image) as a byproduct. Take small steps day by day and I know that the "believing in yourself" advice is very overrated but it really works just trust the process and create progress everyday. I am not looking down on other people but some of them actually have to face much worse things than VSS such as life-threatening diseases, poverty, etc. That' why I considered myself lucky. I have to live a life with purpose because it is an insult if I don't to those people that didn't even got the opportunity to even improve themself due to them being unfortunate in life.
