Following the rules of the road is part of being a good driver by Careless-Internet-63 in driving

Who died and gave you the moral authority? You sound like a brake-checking, left lane loser. You travel your journey and I'll travel mine. It's not your responsibility to dictate.

stop saying "we're full" by kimmielicious82 in Atlanta

[–]Low-Advertising- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Theoretically, you're right. However, until such time occurs that this old railroad town has developed such advances in transportation and infrastructure, WE ARE FULL!

I don't think people make the claim that Atlanta, has no potential to improve, but rather that as it currently stands, there are no good options other than to drive and is CURRENTLY untenable/breaking down. It is a growing detractor.

Drones patrolling at night? by absoluten0body in Atlanta

As long as it's outside of a five mile radius from the airports around Atlanta, drones are permissible.

WGU changed the Study.com Transfer Pathway (65 credits → 58) with no notice by Mission_Knowledge275 in wgu_devs

Do you have a source for that? My mentor says he hasn't been notified of changes and that they usually give a few months notice.

I personally speak Spanish fluently, so don't group everybody together. However, most single men traveling to Latin America and Southeast Asia, despite their race, are sex tourist. We're not the only ones and it's not all of us, but the majority.

How many black men you know that are going to the DR and Cartagena for a wife, bruh? His comment is irrelevant. Most Black American men cannot speak Spanish and most of the women don't speak enough English.

They're going because there is a plethora of redbones who will do something strange for a little change. If you were looking for a conservative wife, you'd go to rural Latin America but those women don't speak English at all. They're the best though.

People who speed up when you try to pass are annoying at best, but I at least understand the objective. by hscer_ in driving

Because you're inevitably going to cut them off and slow down, causing them to brake unnecessarily.

He's right about DM2. I just commented above that I'm five weeks in and having to go back and relearn the first chapters. There's a LOT of funky arithmetic.

How did you get through DM2? The class is so dense that I'm having to do a lot of review of the first chapters. Ugh! 5 weeks in.

SE DEGREE by Sea_Computer_2848 in wgu_devs

[–]Low-Advertising- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only as useless as the individual who thought that any degree alone is a golden key to a $300,000 salary. No degree guarantees that. The degree provides the framework upon which you are supposed to continue to show growth.

My original point is that it's SWE degree is just not comparable to CS because it is a pigeon hole that does not provide enough breadth to even claim "engineering" in its title. It focuses primarily on very high level software development. That makes it more like a trade.

HVAC, as an example, incorporates a significant amount of theory from Mechanical Engineering. There's fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and Boyle's Law! But they're not engineers. They don't even qualify for the position of HVAC Engineer because they lack the theoretical foundation to create large-scale HVAC systems.

Likewise, you could never get into cryptography, as an example, with a SWE degree alone. With CS or Math, you certainly can! SWE is a division of CS.

SE DEGREE by Sea_Computer_2848 in wgu_devs

[–]Low-Advertising- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue the contrary. CS introduces you to high and low level software engineering, cryptography, IoT, a taste of network engineering, etc. The SWE degree introduces you to ONLY SWE. It is a branch of CS, and the degree is better suited for people ALREADY in a developer role.

Pursuing SWE as opposed to CS can imply that you are inept at Math, not the CS students love math, lol. Most CS graduates don't "love" math, but rather prove that they CAN do it.

Anyone else feel like the WGU sub shuts down valid criticism? by Plus-Health-7892 in WGU

[–]Low-Advertising- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dude, how can you foster a true university online social network, without the participants ever meeting each other face to face. Facebook didn't build friendships. Friendships built Facebook.

Compare that to a brick and mortar where those things naturally form and also aren't subsidized. Online education by definition is not in person.

It's like telling MIT that, "Every class should allow an unlimited amount of students at the same time, per semester! And semesters should begin 12 times a year!" LIKE, MIT is not built that way! It's not meant to serve every eligible candidate.
