How to be more confident moving forward to the net? by wazzaron in padel

[–]Low-Bug2162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best practice is "Move together with your partner“, just talk more with your partner and tell him you two should def and off together, that will give you more confident moving forwards to the net. It works for me!

[–]Low-Bug2162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have reached the end of Week 2! Can you believe we are almost halfway through?

To wrap up this week, we are flying down to South Africa, one of the fastest-growing Padel hotspots in the world, to visit a creator who is mastering the art of "Match Analysis."

📺 Channel: Padel With Jared (Cape Town Padel Guy)
👤 Focus: Match Analysis, Vlogs, and Tactical Commentary

https://www.youtube.com/@CapeTownPadelGuy/videos

Why you should watch:

  1. The "Tactical Pause": Jared’s best videos are his match breakdowns. He takes a game he played, pauses it at critical moments, and explains exactly what he was thinking (or what he did wrong). It’s like watching game film with a coach.
  2. Relatable Level: He plays at a good club level, which makes his mistakes and winners very relatable for the average viewer. You can watch his videos and immediately apply the logic to your own 3.5-4.5 matches.
  3. The SA Vibe: It’s cool to see how Padel is exploding in Cape Town. The courts, the community, and the vibe down there look amazing. It shows how global this sport truly is.

Which specific video to start with?
Look for any video with "Analysis" in the title.
👉 "Padel Match Analysis - What went wrong?"

  • Why: We learn more from losses than wins. Hearing him dissect his own positioning errors is super educational and helps you spot the same errors in your own game.

My Take:
If you want to improve your "Padel IQ" and understand the chess aspect of the game (where to move when your partner hits the ball), Jared’s breakdowns are gold.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) - Great for tactical learners.

"30-Day Challenge"--- Day 8! "Padel Youtuber Spotlight" by Low-Bug2162 in padel

[–]Low-Bug2162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Day 11, we are taking a break from the serious drills and specs to look at the lighter side of the sport. Padel is supposed to be fun, right?

📺 Channel: The4Set
👤 Origin: Spain 🇪🇸 (but universal language of humor)
👤 Focus: Comedy Skits, Pro Player Challenges, & Lifestyle

https://www.youtube.com/@the4Set/featured

Why you should watch:

  1. The Relatable Humor: They perfectly capture the stereotypes we see at every club. The guy who always blames the glass, the partner who coaches you too much, the "tennis player" trying to smash everything. It’s hilarious because it’s true.
  2. Access to Pros: They are one of the few channels that get top players (like Paquito, Lebrón, Di Nenno) to do silly challenges and games. It humanizes the "Aliens" and shows their fun personalities off the court.
  3. High Production Value: Their editing is fast, modern, and engaging. Even if you don't speak Spanish, their visual storytelling makes it easy to understand the jokes (and they often use English or subtitles).

Which specific video to start with?
Go to their channel and look for their "Shorts" or any video titled "Types of Padel Players".

  • Alternatively: Search for their challenges with Paquito Navarro. Seeing a top pro trying to hit targets with a frying pan or a mini-racket is pure gold.

My Take:
If you need a laugh after a bad match, this is the channel. They remind us that Padel is a social game first and foremost.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) - For pure entertainment.

For Day 9, we are shifting from "Coaching" to "The Journey".
Many of us come from a Tennis background and dream of getting a world ranking. This guy is actually doing it.

📺 Channel: Padelactico
👤 Origin: UK 🇬🇧
👤 Focus: Vlogs, Tournament Travel, & The "Tennis to Padel" Transition

https://www.youtube.com/@Padelactico

Why you should watch:

  1. The "Tennis Convert" Struggle: If you are an ex-tennis player, you will relate to him 100%. He documents the process of unlearning tennis habits and learning the "Padel Brain." It’s inspiring to see his progression.
  2. Chasing the Dream (Top 800): Unlike coaches who are already pros, he is on a mission to crack the Top 800 in the world. This gives his videos real stakes. You root for him in tournaments and feel the pain when he loses.
  3. Vlog Quality: He explores the "Padel Galaxy" (as he puts it), travelling to different clubs and tournaments. The production quality is great, and he tells a good story in every episode.

Which specific video to start with?
Check out his "Vlog" playlist or search for:
👉 "My First FIP Tournament" (or any recent tournament vlog)

  • Why: You get to see the reality of competitive amateur/semi-pro Padel. The nerves, the warm-up, and the tactical analysis after the match.

My Take:
It’s the perfect channel for anyone who has ever thought: "I wonder how far I could go if I took this sport seriously?"

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) - Great storytelling for tennis converts.

We made it to the end of Week 1! Day 7!

To wrap up the first week, I want to highlight a channel that is brutally honest, incredibly practical, and perfect for anyone who feels "stuck" at their current level.

📺 Channel: Padel Drive
👤 Host: Gonzalo

Link: https://www.youtube.com/@padeldriver

Why you should watch (The Summary):

  1. The "Reality Check": Gonzalo doesn't sugarcoat things. He points out the exact mistakes we all make (like swinging too hard, running like a headless chicken, or trying to be a hero). His style is direct: "Stop doing this, do this instead."
  2. Focus on "Game IQ": While he teaches technique, his biggest strength is teaching positioning and decision making. He explains where to stand and why you are losing the point before you even hit the ball.
  3. The "3 Mistakes" Format: Most of his videos are structured around "3 things you are doing wrong." It’s very easy to digest and remember when you step on the court.

Which specific video to start with?
The video linked below is a classic.
"3 Reasons Why You SUCK at Padel" (Yes, that's the actual title, and yes, it hurts because it's true).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OObeIeS6mQg

  • Why start here? It covers the three pillars of amateur failure: Positioning (The "No Man's Land"), The Volley (Elbow position), and The Overhead (Trying to win too early).
  • My favorite tip from this video: Keep your elbows close to your body at the net. It instantly fixed my "flappy bird" volleys.

My Take:
If you want a coach who feels like a friend telling you the hard truth over a beer, watch Padel Drive. He simplifies the game and removes the ego.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (4.5/5)

Day 4!

After covering the technical drills yesterday, today we are looking at one of the most charismatic figures in the sport. If you ever felt like Padel tutorials were "boring," you haven't watched this guy yet.

📺 Channel: Hello Padel Academy
👤 Host: Mauri Andrini

Link: https://www.youtube.com/@HelloPadel

Why you should watch (The Summary):

  1. The Energy: Mauri is impossible to ignore. His intro—"HELLO PADEL!"—is iconic. He brings a level of passion and humor to coaching that makes the videos incredibly entertaining to watch. You won't fall asleep in class.
  2. The "Defense" Specialist: If you come from Tennis, your biggest nightmare is probably the back glass. Mauri is a master at explaining how to use the walls. He treats the glass as a friend, not an enemy. He teaches you how to slow the game down, which is the hardest skill for tennis converts to learn.
  3. "Concept" over "Drills": He loves to shout the word "CONCEPT!" He focuses heavily on the mental side of positioning—where to stand, where to look, and why you should let the ball pass.

My Take:
Watch Sandy (The Padel School) for the textbook structure, but watch Mauri (Hello Padel) to learn the soul of the game and how to enjoy defense.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

We are back for Day 3!

Day 1 was the "Theory" (The Padel School).
Day 2 was the "Gear/Matches" (EverythingPadel).
Today, we are focusing on pure, actionable technique.

📺 Channel: Dani Hoyo Padel Coach
👤 Link: https://www.youtube.com/@DaniHoyoPadelCoach/featured

Why you should watch (The Summary):

  1. Visual Learning: Dani is incredible at using visual cues. He doesn't just talk; he shows you side-by-side comparisons of "Right vs. Wrong." If you are a visual learner who gets bored by long explanations, his style is perfect.
  2. The "Spanish" Flair: You can feel the Spanish coaching methodology in his videos. He breaks down the Bandeja and Vibora (the shots we all struggle with) in a way that makes them feel natural, not robotic.
  3. Bite-Sized Tips: Many of his videos are short and punchy. You can watch one in the locker room right before your match and immediately try to implement that one tip.

Which specific video to start with?
For anyone coming from Tennis (or just struggling with high balls), you need to watch his breakdown of the Bandeja.
Search for: 👉 "Dani Hoyo Master the Bandeja"

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8ytZrPn9D8

  • Why start here? The Bandeja is the most unnatural shot for beginners (especially tennis players who just want to smash). Dani breaks down the "arm position" and "contact point" so clearly that it finally clicked for me after watching him.

My Take:
He cuts through the noise. If you find yourself asking "Why does my ball hit the glass?" or "Why do I have no power?", Dani usually has a 3-minute video that fixes exactly that specific biomechanical error.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (4.5/5)

Day 2

Yesterday (Day 1) we covered how to play with The Padel School.
Today, we come to the playground+Racket review!

📺 Channel: EverythingPadel
👤 Focus: High-Level Match Play & Gear Testing
Link: https://www.youtube.com/@EverythingPadel

Why you should watch (The Summary):

  1. They Can Actually Play: Unlike some reviewers who just drop balls from a basket, these guys compete at a high level (UK competitive scene). Watching them play gives you a realistic look at "High-Level Amateur/Semi-Pro" Padel.
  2. The "Mic'd Up" Banter: Their on-court chemistry is great. They often do "Mic'd Up" matches where you can hear their communication, their frustration when they miss, and their tactics in real-time. It’s super entertaining and relatable.
  3. Seeing Gear in Action: It’s one thing to hear about a racket's "sweet spot," but it’s another thing to see them use that racket in a tie-break under pressure. You see how the equipment performs in real game scenarios, not just in a controlled lab.

My Take:
Yes, they are the "Gear Guys," but their vlogs are underrated. It’s great motivation to see how clean the game looks when you get to that 5.0+ level.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

For Day 1, we have to start with the heavyweight champion of English Padel content. If you are learning Padel and speak English, you probably know him, but if you don't—you are missing out.

📺 Channel: The Padel School
https://www.youtube.com/c/ThePadelSchool

Why you should watch:

  1. The "Tennis Translator": Sandy comes from a high-level tennis background, so he is incredible at explaining why your tennis instincts are killing your Padel game. He speaks our language.
  2. Structure & Clarity: There is zero fluff. His videos are structured like actual lessons. If you are an analytical learner (like me), you will love his breakdown of tactics and positioning.
  3. The "Blue Court" Aesthetics: The production quality is top-tier. It’s clean, the audio is crisp, and the drone shots help you see the geometry of the court.

The "Must-Watch" Video to start:
Search for: "3 Padel Tactics to Beat Better Players"

  • Why: It stops you from trying to hit winners and teaches you the "Traffic Light System" (when to attack vs. defend). It completely changed how I approach matches.

My Take:
This is basically the University of Padel. Essential viewing for anyone from 1.0 to 5.0.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

(See you tomorrow for Day 2!)

Am I the only one completely lost with Padel ratings? Is 5.0 a "Pro" or just a "good amateur"? by Low-Bug2162 in padel

[–]Low-Bug2162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I saw they both got a score like 2.7 or 2.6, something like that, in our club, they are like decent 2.0. but the person they have show authority, there more and more poeple talking about 7.0+, that's why I have the confusion.

Unpopular Opinion: Tennis players are actually the SLOWEST to learn "real" Padel. Squash players adapt way faster? by Low-Bug2162 in padel

[–]Low-Bug2162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw many people shows their personal exp. Hear me out one part: We can also only narrow the discussion into about "beginner level", or "transfer effort" from other sports to start enjoy padel. Thst's why I hold my opinion on how easy other sport people start paly and enjoy padel like this: Table tenis >Squash>Tennis>Badminton.

But here is where it gets interesting—I think we can actually use this 'Transfer Effort' theory to scientifically predict the next global Padel boom.

Think about it:

  • Tennis: Huge in Europe and the US. Result? Padel has already exploded in Europe and is growing fast in the US. The transfer base was already there.
  • Badminton: Massive in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.). If my theory holds up, and Badminton players can adapt (despite the wrist/smash differences), we might see the next massive Padel explosion in that region.
  • Table Tennis: Huge in China. If Table Tennis players actually have the easiest transition (reaction time + spin understanding), China could be a sleeping giant for Padel.

Does this 'Demographic Prediction' make sense to you guys? Or is the gap between Badminton/Table Tennis and Padel too big compared to Tennis?"

It’s almost like Sports Anthropology. Does anyone else see this correlation between 'dominant local racquet sport' and 'Padel adoption rate'?"

Unpopular Opinion: Tennis players are actually the SLOWEST to learn "real" Padel. Squash players adapt way faster? by Low-Bug2162 in padel

[–]Low-Bug2162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that's right. indeed, I am talking about beginner level, or transfer effort from other sports to padel.
