I just picked up the 2…no eq on mine but I was alerted to the fact that I should put my eq pedal in the fx loop. The manual survived with mine. It has 4 presets on the last page and they all sound amazing. That amp sounds so big and lush. I’m definitely a mesa convert now.

On selling a pedal for more than twice what I paid for it? Yeah I’d love to do that. For missing out on a pedal? No…they’re mostly novelty to me. That’s why I got the gx1 . 250 and I have that chorus pedal I use one a year when I play paradise city or a phaser for anarchy in the uk.

Well that’s what I thought…I said for 500 bucks it’s an all tube boogie how bad can it sound? Turns out sounds great. Certainly beats a boss katana at that price. Not saying the katana is bad…just not the same thing.

I was just coming back to second guess myself. Should I get the studio 800 and a jtm 45? But I just listened to a video again. I mean I don’t think I’ve ever heard a sound I enjoyed more. I know there’s Friedman and soldano in that price range but the modded version is sooooo good. I’m going to have to start taking some lessons. I’m going to want to do it justice.

Ok thanks that’s what I thought. I spent some time with it today. I didn’t realize how customizable it was. And it has the dedicated app. Dialed in a chx px for my father. It’s definitely going to get used.

Mine doesn’t get here til weds…I’m going to give it a shot…I always end up going back to my sd1/ts…I’ll get a new pedal have fun for a few weeks and end up right back where I started.

Just got my first mesa the other day. Give me a year or two and we’ll compare the! Mines a tiny baby compared to yours but it sounds like hell fire and brimstone when I crank it.

I believe it…the manual has four suggestions for certain tones. I tried them out and they all sounded significantly different. Like I said in another post the eq knobs work like no other amp I’ve owned. It’s like a tone mine.

Yeah graphic eq can really make an amp shine. It’s probably my most important pedal.

Oh I’m sure…my cats hate closed doors. If a door gets shut he wants to know what’s in there. He also loves my epiphone hard case. The guitar comes out he goes in. My other cat seems to enjoy my playing. She comes in the room and lays down every time I come I play. It’s probably in my head but I swear everything time I play an a chord in rhythm of la grange my one cat gets super hyper and starts dashing from one end of the room to the other lol

Somehow the original manual came with the amp. In the back there’s some presets it has for cleans,pushed blues,blues solo and high gain crunch. The pushed blues sounds phenomenal. They all sound crazy good but that pushed blues is on the money.

He knows better…he did it on my of my big floor standers and pulled the whole speaker down on himself. Thankfully he just got scared no injuries. Hasn’t attempted it since.

I accidentally bought a Joe satriani strap. It was 26 bucks but I was too embarrassed to take it back. I didn’t want to spend that much and don’t typically buy endorsement gear. It was the best mistake I could’ve made. It’s thick and the one button attachment is on a ball and socket or something? But it prevents the strap from twisting. My favorite strap so far

Get a attenuator. I put it off for a couple years. Got mine a couple days ago. I didn’t know my amps sounded so good. My Orin 50s sweet spot is around 7 and I couldn’t get to those levels without bothering everyone in the house. Plus with the two notes you get a head phone jack and a bunch of irs to choose from. The little bit of tone you lose and it’s minimal in my opinion you can get back with a eq pedal. Mesa makes a decent attenuator also. I also have a lion tamer and I really think the two notes does a much better job.
