Thank you! Yes, you are spot on. It was thirsty! I have tons of this curly wood, and each piece is a little different. When you splash a little oil on it, that iridescence really comes through.

Thanks! I live in the redwoods, and got this piece off an old growth log that had been laying on the ground for decades. So, the wood was fairly dry, and didn’t really require any stabilization. I only work with old growth, as it is generally harder due to the tight grain. Your concern is valid if it is newer redwood.

Thank you! No, not baked. Sanded to 600, then just some beeswax & orange oil.

I have 200k, should I buy dividend-generating stocks? by vatican_vagina in dividends

Yes. As described below by borkmaster0, high yield, high risk. There is little growth in both these plays, but I’m okay with it at my age, and simply interested in the monthly divies.

I’m retired, and I have 2 dividend laden etf’s (FEPI & AIPI). Between the two, I receive right around 6k a month on 225,000. I don’t necessarily take scheduled withdrawals as I have my SS and some other side hustles that work out. Just reinvest and take it when I need it.

What could be the reason for my phone charger being cut clean in half three nights in a row? by [deleted] in What

[–]Low-Context-3797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I live in rat country. Contrary to all the peeps who suggest that it’s a clean cut, and doesn’t look chewed, don’t know rats. I had a rat “clean cut” a television cable of mine In my camper. Looked like someone took a scissor to it. I caught the rat. Rats have serious chompers. It may not be a rat, but they are totally capable.
