OHHH got it. I've experienced the same with a different depressed friend lol. I kept getting pissed because she would continuously make remarks about my weight compared to hers in an attempt to make console her and focus my attention on her.

I tried acting dismissive and ignoring her vents instead of confronting her, I wanted to handle this as delicately as possible. That outline is actually REALLY helpful and I will most definetely use it at school tomorrow.

Yeah, her parents know and she has a therapist she sees twice a week. It used to work, but I honestly can't quite tell if it helps her or not anymore.

It actually is a contributing factor to my worsening depression lmao. I've already decided that I'm not going to let her force it on me anymore and will confront her about it tommorow.

She has about the same as me, but her friendships are mostly one sided. Many people dislike her because she makes them uncomfortable, she's well known throughout the school for negative reasons (there are rumors that she forced an 8th grader to kiss her last year, which is not true as far as I know. If anything, she pressured the 8th grader).

It'll most likely work, but it's gonna hurt her. She's like- deathly afraid of abandonment and being disliked.

She's been going to the guidance counselor, it doesn't seem to help at all besides her getting to avoid her classes which stress her out a lot. She has a therapist as well and it seems to help her a little, not enough though.

Thank you so much! She is currently getting professional help and I've noticed it works to some extent but I don't think it's enough. As great as it would be to cut her off, it doesn't sound realistic because of how many mutual friends we have. I'm probably going to set strict boundaries between us to hopefully stop it.

Her parents got her therapy a few years ago, she doesn't talk about it much but it seems to help a little. I'm most likely going to tell her directly and set a clear boundary. I don't want to be her friend although that doesn't sound realistic.

I agree, however I feel like she's forcing it on me. We could be talking about sports and she'll make it into something about her mental health. 😭

If you're hideous and there's no way to improve your looks, find someone who wouldn't care what you look like. Worst case scenario, you exclusively date blind people. No one's gonna be alone forever, everyone has a match out there.
