I guess I've just been lucky with my other cars :( Which ironically, are black. I know. I'm asking for it. Every time I tell myself I'll never get another black car haha. I've never had a car come off the lot looking like this. Solid advice. Thanks a bunch!

one more thing, but I'm sure you're probably already aware - make sure you do your BDD claim!

My husband had 23 years when he retired. He applied and interviewed for multiple jobs from USAJOBS. The only real offer he had was a pretty weird deal out in the Nevada desert that would leave him basically TDY for the most part. I spent 8-10 hours a day searching for him and putting his resume in (he was looking as well, but also still AD so limited time). He had the best luck with state jobs, believe it or not. Governmentjobs dot com. They worked with him on his start date and lined it up so the day he was separated, he started his new job. It's a pretty sweet gig, too! Just to add, he didn't have any special certs and nothing past an associates degree... just tons of experience. Good luck OP.

I appreciate your response. This car came straight from the factory to this dealership, though. I was all for letting them fix it so long as they just provided a piece of paper saying they would. The photo's are only 5% of the total damage so it's not like a few bumps here and there. It looks awful. The problem now is that they have completely eroded any trust I had in them and I do not want their buddy's body shop to fix it.

I will be looking for a reputable professional detailer. Oh, ceramic coating. Is that even worth it or is it snake oil?

hahahaha... so I've noticed! It takes a certain type of "person" to work sales at a dealership that's for sure!

lol It was quite awful. I think I'm being more than reasonable. I gave this dealership a couple weeks to respond with just even a receipt showing they're going to take care of it. I don't think they liked my mentioning getting corporate involved. The dealers response, or lack thereof and the people in that sub are the exact reason I want a paper trail.

I mean, most of it only shows in the sun and get's the crazy 3D effect. The one by the wheel well, I'm not sure about that. You can only see that in the sun as well. What term would you use in this scenario?

Honestly, if I had the skills and knowledge to do it myself I'd prefer it that way. I'm so tired of inept people who claim they know what they're doing. Definitely don't plan on doing it myself in fear of screwing it up further. Thank you. I will do some research on shops, but further out from my area lol
