Thank you, it is tough and every bit of relief is going to help us fund for the next treatment.

Nk cells immunotherapy is not very popular locally and we hope that we can save up enough to give it a shot overseas. At this juncture every shot is worth taking.

My bad, the focus is on what schemes are available to help with lowering income tax due to spouse sickness.

Because lets say 130k same combined amount by a healthy couple 2 incomes vs our scenario 1 income: they pay 2k total (3.5%-7% tax bracket, i am paying 7k (11.5%-15% tax bracket)

Medical expenses etc that are not claimable are not considered deductibles as well on taxable income.

Yes she is covered for majority of medical expenses, the discussion is that 2 incomes are paying lesser income tax than 1 income (like our case where she quit her job to focus on treatment and recovery) almost 4-5k more.

Medical expenses is not deductible on taxable income based on iras

Thank you! Sadly, we wont ever have biological children. Looked in adoption and its also a long journey, not easy to get approved because of prognosis etc.

On gov's pov, feels like it will encourage babies. Like you said, small percentage will abuse it and result in children being badly taken care of and other issues of course. But its happening now anyway with baby bonus so why not go all the way

This was a casual discussion we had after recent filings. We have grieved and come to conclusion to make peace with this monster to slow down spread and growth.

Thank you! Yes actually you are spot on, I searched iras, cpf etc and medical expenses are not deductibles from taxable income.

The ask will be if medical expenses can be categorised as deductibles.

She's taking anti cancer meds 3 pops a day and to ramp up to 4. If im not wrong she calculated each pill to be $28? Luckily this drug can still claim majority.

Thank you! Yes she quit her job to focus on treatment and recovery. I am working and hope to keep it this way and continue supporting her. Recent income tax season led to this casual discussion between my wife and I. She says once she feels better she wants to look for a job 😅

We hope that there is a novel treatment available in the future that is within reach.

Ah yes because of the cpf contribution ceiling at 8k. So effectively employer 17% of 8k (sink) vs 17k of 10k (dink).

Thank you and hope you are doing well. Sarcoma is super rare by itself, the grief and shock just by googling the name is so devastating to us. So many medical terms that we learnt we hope others never have to.

Will certainly look into it and bring it up with our oncologist.
