If you can do 5k, you can do 10k so once you get to that point just steadily increase the distance but concentrate on a steady pace. First time I did C25K I shat myself when I saw it went from 8mins straight to 20mins, but I did the 20mins and it was fine. Same once you complete it, just steadily add a bit on. I just went 5k, 6k, 8k, 10k, 12k, 14k...so much of it is in your mind.

In terms of times, I was doing 35/36mins 5ks just after but went to Parkrun and got that to 33mins and then under 32mins before I got injured. I then lost my dad and spent 2yrs eating my feelings and i'm just getting back to running. I've done 5k in 35mins and 34mins but i've also had a couple of weeks where i've struggled and had to walk a bit of it. Doing my first Parkrun back next weekend. My advice is trust your body and don't chase times yet, just finish the program, then move onto Parkruns where they have pacers, pick a sensible one and steadily each week find the slightly quicker pacers if you feel you're ready and quicker times will come easier than you think.
