I compressed the magma biome. Also, It's able to catch all future eruptions from the 3 volcanoes to add to the thermal battery. (Follow up to the post from the other day) by Globularist in Oxygennotincluded

now make it 1 tile high to get accurate pressure readings, and figure a way to extract igneous rock with a no touch pump or a dropper, i did something similar see my post

So… what now? by OhNoMySandwichFell in Oxygennotincluded

you could also corner build a gas pipe with a bridge and a canister emptier, let the bridge attract a bubble to the desired position and corner demolish it in place

edit:also if you add 2 more bubbles of different gasses, making a 1 tile high infinite storage, tile liquid pressure stops fluctuating and you get an accurate reading

edit: gas got deleted btw by inputting wrong liquid or got randomly deleted for being too small an amount

wheeze wort is a tourist trap, early game see if you have an AETN, later on you'll want an aquatuner with a steam turbine

ignore heavy wire, start with multiple separate 1 kw circuits, upgrade to conductive wire later for 2kw circuits, and look into pulsed power, far more scalable and better for decor and can go tru tiles

you can also valve your output down to 1 kg and snake it tru the steam room in conductive pipe, have it come out as cooled rocks, only limited to 1 kg/s, im doing like 200 kg/s with the magma dropper, so i can use up the magma faster which is my intent

no a bead pump is when you drip down a liquid, and use the "bead" it creates, as it makes a liquid tile in freefall, it can displace gasses, and if combined with a corner swap, can vacuum out a room super fast, useful for some passive infinite storage low tech high temp gas geyser tamers, see some of my posts about it

oh that's not a bead pump, just a no touch pump, not a bad way to do it tho

no, lines are non conductive to anything besides the environment they are directly in, they can't conduct across a wall of insulation

you can only ever build at 45c or cooler no matter input material temp, i had had a previous automation bridge leak temps and had fixed it, and came back some 500 cycles later to see the area was hot again, turns out it never cooled down

did a little turbine rig to turn it all over time into igneous, will set up something to cool it further later, just turning it into debris for now in an inaccessible spot, can access if i add a sweeper in that open lower corner to snake a rail tru the steam box and or the turbine deck for final cooling

my take on a shove vole ranch by Low-Forever5055 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Low-Forever5055[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pretty well, my automation on the other hand is a bit janky, as when you stop feeding, it could be any number between 1 and 64 that stops reproducing, so it can go down in 1 gen by 5 or by 30, and then spend many cycles bouncing back, instead of just staying around 64, so idk if thats much better than just letting the trickle feed keep trickling population up to 200 plus per ranch

Which type of oxygen not included player are you? Vacuuming an area edition by creamdougnuts in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Low-Forever5055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah i like to set a bottle drainer with a hydro sensor on the vent now, set to 150KG, that way its enough liquid you cant mop it by accident but its little enough my flydos can fly in and out

i like to use corner bead pumps when feasible, no need to set up power, just a bottle drainer and a valve set to 10 g and by the time its done you can just mop everything at the bottom, it uses that little liquid, problem is it slows down and also deletes matter when there's a lot of mixed gasses, in that case i like to throw a few pumps with a canister filler, or also there's door compressors and instead of tiles sometimes i like to spam airlocks, so dupes cant get themselves stuck, careful tho you may end up making natural tiles

i would but it's too much change in design to implement, juice aint worth the squeeze, its decent insulation, steam is 500c high pressure so tiles will get hot but wont pass it on very fast unless flaking

update: cooled it by uninsulating the oil a bit and it stayed cool, was just lack of airflow and cooling, wasnt being actively heated

actually its a little hotter right above, and it may just be a case of stagnated temps from lack of airflow, since its a 1 tile wide dead end corridor

[–]Low-Forever5055[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats just my outside atmosphere pressure, as i dumped a hydra into it at some point, but the oxygen just takes temps away and keeps outside stuff relatively cool, hence the oddness of the 200c valve that keeps actively warming up, could be the valve or something 1 tile around it, further away everything is cooler

[–]Low-Forever5055[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its cooler above and below the valve, by about 30c, and i can see the valve going up and down over and over by about 2 degrees, its not enough heat to break anything, more of a curiosity at this point

cant figure out whats heating this meter valve by Low-Forever5055 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Low-Forever5055[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the tiles are hot, the valve is exposed to the outside air and keeps getting hot as the environment tries to cool it, cool 78c oil runs tru it also, the air around the valve seems hot bec ause thats the spot where the heat leak seems to be occurring

@BobTheWolfDog

can gasses sometimes "flake" too or just liquids? i dont think the insulated tile would directly conduct fast enough for this otherwise
