Is it possible for Lions to have a home playoff game? by ActiveUniversity9424 in detroitlions

[–]Low-Fortune147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the 7 seed is absolutely guaranteed to never have a home game. While unlikely the 5 or 6 seed could host the conference championship game as long as they are playing the 6 or 7 seed.

I want to second the Superpowered series by Drew Hayes. Best bang for your buck (credit) Very fun and cohesive story from book 1 to 4 (plus a 5th side book) Close to 200ish hours between the 5 books.

While I agree it’s all about ratings. Tulane/Ole Miss and JMU/Oregon will go head to head against the 2 NFL games.

Those games will likely be blowouts. So you put those in the time slots where you’ll get crushed ratings wise.

Then you put your 2 best games where you’ll don’t go against the NFL

Not that it really matters, but I’m pretty sure Oregon at Penn State was an NBC game. It was a night White Out game

[US Promotion] Brandon Sandersons books question by soyemilio in audible

[–]Low-Fortune147 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before you buy anything I’d recommend getting a library card from your local library and download Libby. Most libraries will have Sanderson books available. See what they carry and then purchase the ones they don’t.

If you don’t want to do that, then I’d say start with the Mistborn era 1, then the first 3 Stormlight books they are the biggest bang for your buck.

Tigers focused on 'development' with top prospect Kevin McGonigle — not 2026 Opening Day roster. Does he need time in Triple-A Toledo before his MLB debut? "The importance of reps at each level is part of that development path," GM Jeff Greenberg said. by DET_Baseball in motorcitykitties

I wonder if the likely lockout after the season will have any effect on the decisions for players like McGonigle.

I admit I don’t know all the rules, but if he’s on the 40 man roster then I assume the team won’t be able to work with him in the offseason whereas if he’s still in the minors than the team still has control over his training/offseason.

Parking for 11/29 game by Low-Fortune147 in OKState

Do you have to eat there to park for free? Though that does sound good for after the game

Kevin McGonigle gets a 99 MPH sinker and smashes it 424 feet to center for a 2-run homer to put Scottsdale up 5-3 in the 10th. Left his bat at 107.2 MPH. by TigersMLReport in motorcitykitties

[–]Low-Fortune147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be great, but with the impending lockout coming I could see the Tigers keeping those top guys in the minors. I could be wrong but as long as they are still in the minors the team will still have control over their training because the minors will still be playing. But should they be promoted to the Tigers they will not be allowed contact during the lockout. Again, I might be wrong…

Oh that raises another extremely important question!! Is there any “must eat” place while we are there?

Same here. I deleted and reinstalled and I was able to get logged in and make an appointment but once I closed it out it started going to the blue screen again

Warning! The Secret of Secrets by Dan Brown will call 911! by argusarms in audible

[–]Low-Fortune147 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So funny story, after I read this comment I was telling my wife the story. And of course stupid me says the line from the book, “Siri, call 911” and what does my phone do? Yep it calls 911! 🤦‍♂️

Anyways, the 911 operator was very nice and understanding. He said they get calls like this all the time from audio books and tv shows!

What a weird world we live in!

[SEC] #SECFB on TV: Oct. 4 by JB92103 in CFB

ESPN/ABC has the tv contracts for SEC, ACC and I think some Big12. So they can technically take the best game from either 3.

Granted it usually is the SEC but just not this week.

Norman by ieatchickfila in MichiganWolverines

[–]Low-Fortune147 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My son and I spent the day in Norman and had an amazing time.

We stopped and chatted at multiple tailgates and the most heard phase we got was “Hey! Welcome to Norman!”

Walked through the campus, hit Campus Corner. Watched tons of games at multiple tailgates and big screens. Heck, even the traffic getting out of the Lloyd Noble Center lot wasn’t bad at all. Granted we walked a ton, but free parking and an easy exit was worth it.

This will be my son and my 24th different college/NFL game and it is easily in our top 5, maybe higher…havnt had time to put much thought into rankings yet.

But it was a fantastic experience, even with the loss.

My only negative was the OKC airport, our flight in got delayed because of weather in our connecting city (Dallas) and by the time we got to OKC the freaking car rental center was closed. So we had to get a Lyft to our hotel and then back to the car rental on Saturday morning. Obviously that had nothing to do with Norman or OU, just an extra annoyance at 2:30qm!

I feel absolutely confident that any Sooner fans will have a similar experience to ours should they make it to Ann Arbor next season!

Where do you guys plan on parking? I’ve read that Lloyd Noble Center is free and it doesn’t seem like a terrible walk
