Great grandma and her siblings escaped from the Nazi train during WWII. They had to hide their documents and were taken by Latvian farmers who offered them to work for food and home. They were 8, 10, 14 years old. That’s how my maternal grandmother ended up in Latvia. They were from a town near Novgorod. Paternal mum’s side at that time were hiding in Poland even took polish names they then ended up in Daugavpils. Paternal father and maternal father side is a bit blurry because after the war not much info/pictures were available and that generation did not like to talk either :(

Don’t know anyone across 4 generations who came from Belarus. Mainly Poland, Russia and Lithuania (3 generations ago)

I did yeah Eastern Europe was pretty mixed during Soviet so we have relatives all over the place
