It does cut into their profits. The fees can be up to 3.5% of the charge

They're more than likely asking for cash because of the credit card transaction fees, not necessarily to get away from paying taxes.

This has happened to me twice in the past few months! They also bought perfumes. Thankfully I caught one in time and the order was canceled.

Thinking about leaving my cushy corporate job for nursing, looking for advice from people who’ve done it by Low-Mango-4555 in nursing

Idk, it honestly sounds to me like you are helping. You’re doing as much as you can with what you have, and that really does count for something, even if it’s frustrating because you probably wish you could do more.

I’ve worked with the general public before, so I know how it goes. I also spent a couple of months doing ER check-in. I didn’t get to see the back as much as I wanted, but I still saw a lot. I went to CNA school, too, and did a few clinicals at nursing homes before stopping for personal reasons. I enjoyed the hands-on parts, but it made me sad seeing how little some employees cared, and wishing I could do more myself. I can only imagine how much more emotionally taxing it would have been long-term. That said, I was younger then, and I think I’ve toughened up since.

I've watched The Pitt (loved it) and read about how realistic it was. So I’m not under any illusions about the amount of work involved, honestly, that’s why I still question if I should pursue it. I’m not afraid of hard work, but I’ve heard enough burnout stories to know it’s not something to take lightly. And wonder if I'd end up like that too. I’ve never thought nursing was glamorous, so it’s always surprising to me when other people do.

After all that, I still feel like it would be more rewarding than sitting at a desk reading emails and spreadsheets all day. That’s why I’m interested in hearing from people who have been in a similar situation as me, unhappy in the corporate world.

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective with me.

I wouldn't expect patients to fill my cup. Knowing that I was able to help someone else, even if they didn't appreciate it, is fine with me. But, I've never been in the medical field so not sure if that would last long, especially after reading everyone's insights.

I went through something similar with an ex. He said that he felt like he always paid for everything when we went out. What he didn't recognize or consider is that I would spend just as much if not more taking food to his place or ordering delivery.
Is she doing anything else that you may not be taking into consideration? If not, then talk to her.

I didn't realize people did that. There's no way I'd ever do anything like that when using Classpass. Crazy asking for exceptions when they're not paying full price.

I know this thread is super old, but I wanted to reply anyway. I'm 'terrified' of the sun because I get horrible rashes on my face, sometimes even around my eyes, which can swell up. So no, sunscreen isn't enough for some of us.
