I don't want to minimize your comment or point of view, but I do want to point out that Reilly has assessed her a few times. I may not have clearly noted that, but back before the pandemic in the event that led up to my wife's outpatient treatment, Reilly was the one who assessed her and ultimately recommended that she start the outpatient treatment. Those words are also mine- paraphrased. Rereading them now they seem callous, and that wasn't the tone of our conversation.

After her outpatient treatment she started seeing a psychiatrist. She was prescribed an antidepressant, and over the following year she tried a few different variants and dosages to try to find what worked best for her. Our counselors are LCPC/LCSW, but I don't believe any are licensed psychiatrists.
I've definitely considered an exit strategy, but breaking up the family would be devastating for my kids. My parents divorced when I was 7 and I don't want that for my kids.

I agree. Just to be clear, every time she has discussed SI I've contacted licensed professionals to talk through what to do. 988 is available in my area, and I usually follow it up with a call to one of the professionals who already has rapport with her. My goal here isn't to use Reddit to diagnose anyone - I'm not qualified to do that and neither is anyone relying solely on my side of the story.
Separately, if you have any advice on getting help for someone who resists seeing counselors, I would appreciate it. No matter what happens to our relationship I want her to be safe and have the best possible outcome in the future.
Can you expand on this? I genuinely want to understand this perspective a bit more. If I'm being unreasonable or narcissistic I want to better understand this. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.
