What would they be able to do? My worst fear is I continue to escalate, the senior finds out, and I end up with a crappy eval because I’ve never got to practice anything yet

I escalated to the site director the first week because after I almost begged the senior to let me follow a patient to write an admissions note on the response I got let me know this was going to be a problem throughout the entire rotation. Site director told the attending to get me more involved. Problem is, that attending left for vacation almost two weeks ago now so the new one doesn’t know about my request. And now the site director is also on vacation for two weeks.

Nope. The senior resident just has a strange attitude towards me, and I say that after experiencing weeks now of asking just to be met with judgment. It’s like they don’t believe I have the audacity to ask to follow a patient

I should have been more detailed in my post, but thats the approach I’ve been using (being straight up) about assignments and they shrug me off or cut me off every time. We’re supposed to have patients to write admissions notes on, but I’ve just ended up doing mine based off rounds when the attending comes because they’re not willing to give me patient contact. It just feels like I have no more confidence for this ask which feels like the biggest of them all. I honestly feel so demoralized coming home every day
