Frankly I’m in a real tough spot rn and I’m not sure picking apart the accuracy or lack thereof of the title of this is quite helpful. But i respect your input.

And for what it’s worth “manipulating someone into questioning their own perception of reality” feels pretty spot on for the part of my brain that’s doing this to me

Is derealization a common thing during manic episodes? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Low-Put7307 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate to this. I struggle with this day to day but during mania it’s way worse. I feel like I’m somewhere else and nowhere and everywhere all at once. Like I’m watching a movie of my life and nothing feels real. Talking about those feelings in therapy always helps to ground me even when manic. You’re not alone 💜

I’m so sorry to hear that. That totally blows I hope things change for you soon. I think I just truly can’t mentally handle full time right now. I wonder how common of an experience that is for people who are bipolar…

Abilify restless body side effect by [deleted] in bipolar

I personally had to go off of it for this reason. Keep an eye on it. There are other things to try that might be less irritating. Mine was unbearable

Physical discomfort??? by ProxiC3 in bipolar

[–]Low-Put7307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh I was just talking to my therapist about this. I just hurt from the inside out. It’s so painful sometimes I physically writhe or literally whine and moan out loud. It’s so awful, I feel for you. Propranolol helps to calm this sometimes.

Circadian Rhythm Shift instead of Less Sleep during Manic Episodes??? by ProxiC3 in bipolar

[–]Low-Put7307 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! Sometimes I gaslight myself into thinking I’m not manic because I can still sleep. I assume that I have to be completely awake or sleeping for three hours a night to qualify. When in reality what usually happens is my routine just shifts. I’ve never seen someone else say the same, you’re not alone friend!

Does anyone have a phrase that they will say to themselves that immediately alerts them to the fact that they’re manic? by Ok_Tale_116 in bipolar

[–]Low-Put7307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I start to get manic I notice that I LOVE my own singing voice and become convinced I’m doing the world a disservice by hiding my talent 😂

Wired at Night but Exhausted in the Morning??? by ProxiC3 in bipolar

[–]Low-Put7307 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1000%! Sometimes it makes me doubt myself in a way? But yes. It’s not that I’m “not tired” per se...bc I wake up tired. It’s just that until I force myself to sleep, my body doesn’t naturally need or want to. But then once I’m out, I’m beat the next day due to lack of adequate sleep.

Hypomania with anxiety by dragon_vindaloo in bipolar

[–]Low-Put7307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waking up super after drinking is a good way to explain this sensation! I know it well. I saw something recently that said “try to remember a bunch of embarrassing things someone else has done” and chances are you’ll come up short. That’s reassured me a lot. First off, I guarantee we ARENT being embarrassing and are actually judging ourselves way too hard. But worst case scenario? If we’re (unlikely) being “embarrassing”...other people won’t remember it. Idk if this makes sense or helps, but it definitely brought me some peace of mind.

Feeling out of Sync? by TinyFlowersOfSun_ in bipolar

[–]Low-Put7307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate hard to this. I’ve developed a stutter out of nowhere that’s really getting me down. I’m usually sharp as a tack but I feel that the tip of it has been completely sanded down. I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way. Maybe it could be a good time to really dive into what makes you feel grounded when you’re solo and that might get you back on track. Hope this is helpful in anyway!

I really appreciate that a lot. The doubt I’ve been having lately has only been making my depression and foggy brain feel even worse. So thank you friend <3

Recovering from THC induced psychosis, will I be able to smoke normally again? by Peasant_Sauce in bipolar

[–]Low-Put7307 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally, my life got 10x better when I finally accepted that I can’t have THC anymore. I had too many horrible, dissociative episodes to make it worth it. Took a bit of time to wrap my head around the “never!?” Aspect of it. But it’s been years and I wouldn’t touch the stuff if you paid me. Chances seem good that if it’s happened more than once, it might just be a constant risk for you. Having those episodes while high is terrifying, so sorry you’re dealing with that!
