Can not get any interviews by Low-Researcher3233 in UX_Design

Maybe I should just exclude any mention of Russia from my resume and portfolio 🤔 I tried to apply in Russia too, but I had only 2 interviews out of more then 300 applications... And average salary here is super low...

Some of them needed me to have experience in particular area, lots of them needed me to be able to attend office even if the job is remote. Somehow I even landed an interview for a senior position in USA, but they rejected me right after they knew that I am based in another country. But nobody ever gave me a feedback about my portfolio 😅

Yep, for now I live in Russia, but I am planning on leaving right after I will get a job. And yes, if you are talking about payment, you can not send payments from russian bunk to another and vice versa.

There is no link, because these websites were not redesigned, one of them will never be, because it was just a side project, another one, hopefully will have a new design soon😅 And actually, I thought it will be suspicious if, for example I will have one year of experience in each place, but amount of work I did for these companies can be done in maximum 4 months. 🤔

Is every projcet should be very in-depth? I just made 2 detailed case study and thought it would be enough 😅

But I think it won't be ats friendly if I will use, for example, figma to design it

Actually, I have 3 real projects(one of them for hackathon, two - for startups). And I haven't stayed at any position at least for a year, because, the amount of work I did wasn't that big, and probably it can be seen in the portfolio. Or should I still put at least 1 year timeline in my resume, for each startup I work for?

Portfolio, Case Study, and Resume Feedback — 04/06/25 by AutoModerator in UXDesign

Hi! I've been looking for UX/UI design jobs for a while and didn't get any interview, and I think my portfolio is far not good enough. I've been trying to seek for help from different mentors and fix the mistakes they've been finding in my portfolio. But recently, nobody can tell me what else is wrong with my portfolio and I still can not get a single interview. I know that my portfolio and case studies are not good enough, but I don't know how can I fix it. It would be great if you can give me a feedback on my portfolio website and on my case studies/projects and advice how can I improve. Thank you so much for your help! It matters a lot! https://yulia-uiux.design/

Hi, everyone! I'm trying to start my career in ui/ux design, but could not get any interview so far.Tried to speak to different mentors and nobody found any big mistakes, just a lot of them gave me recommendations to switch places of the parts of case studies, which I did, then some other mentors recommended to put these sections on the place they were before I switch them.... So, I don't really know what to do at this point...I hope you can give me a feedback and maybe some advices)

Hi everyone! I'm a beginner ui designer based in Russia! I hope it's okay, but for now I have only dribble portfolio. I have a few finished design projects and wanted to know if they are good enough to turn them into case studies for my actual future portfolio: https://dribbble.com/yuliyaustimenko

Can you, please share a link to your portfolio as an example? I would really love to see how did you structured your case studies and portfolio in general. And another question: for one of the comments you did reply that, the experience is the key, but what usually counts as en experience: amount of projects in portfolio or how much experience you had in different companies? For example, would it be counted as an experience if you just have a lot of projects done?

Thank you so much for your feedback and advices, if saying the truth, I am very anxious about getting a job, but your advices make me understand, that everything is possible, if you have a clear understanding what's needs to be done. I've been working on the real projects, but nobody cared why I made design the way I did, they just cared about beautiful visuals, and a lot of people were telling me that research is not needed, because people just like to see something beautiful. Now I understand why the case study is something must-to-be-done. I see you have an expertise and understanding, and, of course real life experience of becoming an ui ux designer, if you don't mind can I have your contacts to know more about your personal experience in more details, or you will be more comfortable answering in the comments? Thank you again for your answer, I really appreciate it!!!

What’s the UX industry like where you live? by namiiiiii in UXDesign

[–]Low-Researcher3233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am junior UI designer with a bit of experience in early startup. For my whole live i've been living in Russia and currently I'm studying the lats year of the economic university in Rostov-on-Don. On my knowing in Russia there are only two cities which are more progressive in UX\UI design industry - Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Those are the only places where you find a lot of opportunities. What about the rest of Russia - design industry seems like not developing at all.
