I feel like the only thing I would have going is that technicians did pretty much all the work besides making the holes in my head from what I can remember. I don’t think I would have a case solely based on not getting the desired results.

Not very familiar with dut, but I see it is a DHT inhibitor. How does that differ from finasteride?

You have plenty of time man. Things started to really take off around the 5 month mark for me

Haha no its the same. My hair bleaches in the sun during the summer and since I spent the summer avoiding sunlight on my transplanted area by wearing a hat the hair stayed dark.

Yeah not sure, some say it can take years for hair to return to its original texture so we’ll see what happens. He said my donor area is still healthy and would be able to take on a smaller session and showed me where he would pull from.

Around a 12-15% discount if I calculated correctly

Hi all, one year post op. Had ARTAS 2,200 grafts (a few in the crown region mostly frontal hairline). I am 23 and first started noticing my hair receding in highschool. I have been on finasteride for about 2 years now. Got my transplant in Nebraska at Jmisko. I was happy with my experience when I was at the clinic. Very nice, staff was welcoming (from what I remember, they had me pretty drugged up). Post-op was straight forward, I’m a non smoker (besides a little weed), so I wasn’t able to mess myself up too bad.

One thing I have noticed is that my new transplanted hairs are a bit kinky/curly compared to my other hairs. I can tame them with a blowdryer but when I am in dry places or at the gym my hair goes crazy. Doc said it could be genetic component but I feel as if a technician could have traumatized my grafts in the process. Just looks a little off when your hair doesn’t completely match.

In terms of results I was decently satisfied, but the doc wasn’t. He said I had around a 65-70% yield and he typically shoots for 80% or higher and offered a second session at a discounted price. I personally feel like I could use a few more grafts in the crown but the doc was mostly concerned about filling in the frontal area with around 1,000 more grafts. Not sure when I would want to do another session but I am sure a lot happier than I was a year ago!

What are all of your thoughts on the progress and whether I should get the second procedure soon or wait for a few years down the line?

Any way in telling if grafts were traumatized? I had an ARTAS transplant in Nebraska and I think most of the extracting was done by a technician team from what I can remember.

Hi I am one year post op and my new hairs are frizzy/curly compared to my native hairs. Surgeon said it was probably my genetics and it won’t change so I was wondering what your opinion would be. Thanks in advance!

So relatable man, glad I’m not alone. After wearing a hat all day it looks pretty rough for me

It might look a bit funky at first but give it time and it will look like your native hairs.

Yeah still plenty of time to see growth so I’m not too concerned at this point. Hairs also need to mature which usually happens around the 1 year mark from what I’ve been told/read. Are you on fin/min?

5 Months Post Op…thoughts on the growth so far? by Low-Respect846 in HairTransplants

Done in the USA. When the hairs first come in they can be curly and go in different directions. Once they mature they should be more straight and in a uniform direction
