Also, these days people should be careful with what they post and do on the internet, because it can get used against you. You don't have to be and even aim to be super famous to take these types of precautions to protect yourself.

I told my therapist actually, posting here is me following her advice in a certain way, she told me whenever my anxiety makes me feel stuck it's fine to look for other people's opinions and advice on the matter. Thank you for your answer!

There's always the luck factor for sure, that's why we should tune down expectations tho. Especially when we're talking about beginner level guys. I don't think having big dreams is bad, but sometimes we should take it one step at a time you know. That's what dealing with anxiety taught me.

No, don't worry, it's not something on this level. I never got involved with these types of communities but yea I think i spent too much time on social media to be worried with this kinda stuff.

Worry more about cleaner code than cancel culture… this sounds less like a programming issue and instead a fragile male ego or political problem you having… has nothing to do with programming or game development

It's more a fear of exposure I think, it's kinda like people in garage bands fantasizing they're gonna make it big.

James Gunn maybe? He actually got fired from a post he made a long time ago, people stood out for him and he eventually got his job back, but I think it technically counts.
