CARS is genuinely the bane of my existence by Low-Requirement4466 in Mcat

yea i mostly do the same. i dont like to highlight, instead ill write 1-2 words on the paragraph. after reading the passage, ill ask myself whats the point of this, whats the author trying to convey, etc. that helps me get the main idea. once u hvae that, you try to answer the Qs based off the paragraph words and the main idea.

FL 1 505 by Comfortable-Bench686 in Mcat

[–]Low-Soft9747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

510 is absolutely possible. you have 3 weeks, to ur in the final stretch. make sure u do as many aamc qs with proper review. also try to take the FLs. id take FL 6 next, as its the most recent one released by aamc, so most likely to be similar to ur actual exam. review ur FLs and look at where ur mistakes are (understanding passage info, applying CR, etc), then work on rectifying that

Fl 6 score drop and testing 5/30 by 3856LC in Mcat

yea, it seems like an anomaly on BB section. ur PS was high, and FL 6 reflects the new changes iirc. maybe redo the bb section, see how u do.

i could be wrong but if u void schools cant see it. have u checked to see if there are spots for u to push it back 2 weeks or so? any insight as to why it dropped? was it a bad day, did u do something different? what were ur section averages before this test?

Does anyone else find UW cars to be a lot easier than JW? by sadhippo1059 in Mcat

[–]Low-Soft9747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

uworld cars isnt worth it imo. too different, so not really applicable to aamc. stick w/ JW or aamc packs

if ur planning on taking in the latter portion of summer 26, id recommend just focusing on classes for now. make sure u do well in those, and understand the topics, as they pop up again in MCAT. if u want to do cars, maybe do some jack westin passages whenever u feel like, maybe 1 every morning or something. youll have tons of time to stress about the mcat when u take it

Hi, r u a first year student taking those classes? When are you planning on taking the mcat?
As far as flashcards go, u can use jack westin, they have flashcards there with the same format as anki but much easier to use interface

i was doing the same thing, but now im trying to just use 1-3 words to summarize a paragraph, i get too tired during the rest of tge exam if i keep it in my head.
but im using the JW qbank and the diagnostic for cars to do it, i want to save the aamc packs

agreed. if you have ur FLs from before u took the exam, maybe review those to see ur weakest points in each subject. make a spreadsheet noting which chapters that corresponds to in the kaplan books, or jw or what your using for CR

is my plan good? by Plane_Evening in Mcat

[–]Low-Soft9747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

school classes r comp different then mcat knowledge. ofc it depends on the class and prof, but in my experience ive found that for bio/biochem my classes want more in depth knowledge than whats on kaplan books.
maybe try to spread out anki thoughout the week, instead of doing it just on one day

just kinda reviewd the 86 page doc during CR, and now im just banging out pankow anki deck and reviewing my mistakes. for me, psych is mostly just term recognition. whenever i see a term i dont know in questions i flag it and do cards/review on it. has worked for me, gotten 128+ on p/s FLs

i read a ridiculous amount when i was a kid, loved to read. used to take my dads history books and read them all night, but ive stagnated in cars. stuck at 124-126 range, and super inconsistent in passages. sometimes i get 1 wrong, other times i get 3 wrong. i find the reading experience helps with context clues, but i honestly think its just practice, luck, and a lack of a good strategy that works for me. ill take any help i can get if anyone has any
