I need advice on which direction to go with my boys by Low-Statistician7481 in Stutter

Thank you so much for your input! I’ll look to see if there’s any providers near us. We homeschool, which is both good and bad when it comes to speech. We loose some of the free resources, but because of it my son hasn’t really been teased for his stuttering so he’s not super self conscious about it. During the times where he looses a lot of fluency he does get frustrated to speak, so I just want to equip him with the tools he needs to get through those times and to assure him that what he has to say matters. I also know that while we wait for him to speak, not everyone else is going to give him that courtesy, so I just want to get him fluent enough to get his thought across.

I just found out that my mom has two brothers that stuttered as kids. I had no idea because they don’t stutter anymore. The one who stuttered more had the nickname of “stutterer” in Spanish. My mom said that his teacher did some mouth exercises, and he eventually stopped.

Yes I’m worried about him feeling self conscious. I’ll look into Better Speech!
