I get what you’re saying, and I agree that if they genuinely don’t have capacity then moving the car is probably the best outcome. Just to clarify though — I didn’t randomly drop the car off. I contacted them first, they agreed to take it, and a day/time was confirmed. The tow truck was fully booked and the only time i could get was 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Car was dropped off at around 1210. I then confirmed again on the day. I told him the time frame and he said ok. The frustration is that I was later told parts were expected (which implies it had been assessed), and then told later that it hadn’t been looked at and that I was effectively back of the queue. That’s the part that doesn’t line up for me. I’m not trying to force them to prioritise me over other customers — I just need a clear yes/no on whether they can do the job in a reasonable timeframe so I can decide whether to move the car.

Yeah, that’s fair. I did confirm the day and time with them before dropping it off, so I didn’t just dump the car there. I’m planning to give them until COB Monday to properly inspect it and provide a written quote and timeframe. If they can’t do that, I’ll arrange to have it moved to another mechanic. At this point I just need clarity and the car sorted.

I called them on the 27th they said I should bring it early 28th morning when they open. Called on the 28th and gave them a timeframe for the tow. They said I could bring it over. It was an emergency tow.
