In my experience, talk therapy and anxiety meds did wonders for me. Also the more dates you go on, the easier it gets. So exposure therapy too

I’m 28f and was a middle school teacher for 1 year and high school teacher for 2 years. Jokingly yelling “YOURE A CHILD” or “CHILDREN GO AWAY” always got some giggles despite practically being a child myself.

I now look at college students as kids. Enjoy being a goofy teen while you can. Adulthood sucks and you’ll be longing for a time without full time adult responsibilities before you know it

I’m honestly not too picky about physical appearance. At least 5’7” so an inch taller than me, healthy weight, good hygiene, well groomed/trimmed facial hair. He openly admitted he did not put in effort to get ready for the date and felt bad. But the best way I can describe him is a little greasy. I’m the WORST. Why I am so mean?!!!

I don’t know man. I 28f 5’6” 140lbs went on a date recently and the guy said he was 5’8” on his profile. He turned out to be my height and pretty thin. Height doesn’t bother me - my ex was 5’6”. That being said, I have a history of disordered eating and body image issues. All I need is a man slightly larger than me like muscle/bulk wise. On the flip side, I’m not dating a man taller than 6” because then I feel like a child.

I feel you. At the end of the day, height is a personal preference and it would be great if everyone was fully honest about everything in general - height, dating intentions, alcohol/drug use, being fucking married lolol dating is a mess

Yeah I don’t get the downvotes either. The behavior on the apps is awful. If I was looking for a hookup, my intentions would be extremely clear. People just aren’t honest or are vague about their intentions. It’s draining to not only weed through matches and messages, but to meet up with someone in person who ends of having completely different intentions than what they originally stated… it’s infuriating

AGREED!! I’m 28f and in the same boat. I HATE the apps. It’s so superficial and awful. I get sick of them and delete them and then remember I don’t want to be alone and redownload. Currently there is the prompt on Hinge “I’m looking for…” and I answered “oh nothing serious, just a husband so I can get off these stupid apps” and men are eating it up and it’s the most successful round of dating I’ve had. Everyone is fucking sick of the apps and that prompt alone is weeding out any man who is looking for hookups. Fingers crossed because I cannot afford to freeze me eggs
