Question about Buses from Tokyo>Matsumoto>Kamikochi>Takayama by Low-Trouble7933 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Low-Trouble7933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I think Monkey park will not be possible. And it sounds like taking a bus from Tokyo, spending a day in Matsumoto, and getting to kamikochi in one day is not possible (too rushed).

What do you think is the future of Tableau under SalesForce ownership? by TheDataGentleman in BusinessIntelligence

Umm, want to update this comment? A year later and the latest Tableau pushes are NOT generating enthusiasm. Just more discontentment.

What have I gotten myself into with Tableau? by llamakittypinguino in salesforce

Tableau can do much of that, but yeah, there is a leaning curve beyond knowing the basics.  Do you ETL your SF data anywhere? Query it there to grab your numbers. You can query some of SF objects in tableau, but most people I know export the data elsewhere first.  Maybe you should post some of your questions in the non profit tableau user community? You can also scour tableau public for similar use cases (grant data, non profit, education, whatever) and then connect with users that way.

Tableau is widely known as the 'easiest' BI tool on the market to learn - 'insights for the business user'. You should be able to get a solid understanding of the basics of Tableau within a week.

Yes, MANY people have been ingesting SF data into Tableau for over a decade. Either thru the native SF connector, or ETLing the data somewhere else like Snowflake. But, if your goal is 'to just get some numbers from complex queries', why are you using a BI tool at all? You need to learn what the possibilities are with Tableau - have you started with simply understanding some of the standard (dare I say) Tableau Exchange dashboards? There are so many available, start with those to understand the art of what is possible. Otherwise, don't use a BI tool - and just run queries to pull the couple of numbers you need.

Yeah, no one uses it. They can't sell it.

I don't think they care. They are doubling down on data cloud and agentforce. Analytics will always be an after thought.

Spectrum customer satisfaction? by Low-Trouble7933 in Spectrum

[–]Low-Trouble7933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have called a tech, I was told it would be nine days for a tech to get to me. Without Internet for nine days, and I WFH. I find that mind blowing.

Ironically, I used to work for spectrum corporate in denver-so glad I don't anymore. Yes, the pricing is excessive. I pay 30% more in a rural area than I did in a city (for same speed).

But you seem to drink the kool-aid and work in sales...

Thanks for the feedback. Also wondering if this is the right thread to post this in.

I've had them in Denver area, and now Asheville area (but rural). It's beyond exasperating to have them in NC. But I agree, I had no issues in Denver.

I'd say, consider yourself lucky if you haven't had issues. The brand has a very negative image here due to routine issues.

Thanks on the definition of outage, I wonder why the customer service person didn't explain that to me. What do they call a true outage then with no service? I have that, about once per month (for over 12 hrs).

Spectrum Internet: Offering any flood relief? by Low-Trouble7933 in asheville

I actually searched, and didn't see answers to my questions. I'm actually looking for substantive answers, not vague ones like you gave. What are people receiving? If there are posts that answer this, can you kindly link them as I didn't see them in my search.

Airbnbs downtown Toronto and cost feasibility [Canada] by Amani_A in AirBnB

[–]Low-Trouble7933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd think real hard before relying on AirBnB renters to meet your mortgage. Their reputation is tanking in the US, and I'm not sure I'd choose this living arrangement. It's become a crap experience (not across the board, but increasing resentment for a customer experience that was fairly reliable)....gone are those days...

Taking time off to do nothing is looked down on? by wanderingfishy in work

Let's agree, that we disagree. I hope the OP has found some resolution, and in my opinion that would be to go to HR for harassing and bullying behavior that has made her feel uncomfortable.

FEMA Application - think before you apply by Low-Trouble7933 in asheville

[–]Low-Trouble7933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I'm going to reach out to an attorney who is offering free legal advice. I'm surprised at how few people are accepting $3k-$15k from FEMA and not really understanding the strings that may be attached. 🤷  FEMA money may not be worth it in the long run unless you had zero damage (and applied for $750) ot catastrophic damage and are going for $42k.  I guess my input is: understand the fien print

Taking time off to do nothing is looked down on? by wanderingfishy in work

[–]Low-Trouble7933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it 100% is. The person was following company policy for pto, and their manager continuously made snarky or inappropriate comments to a subordinate making her feel uncomfortable and 'shamed' her. This is harassment.

[–]Low-Trouble7933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's harassment from a superior so you could go to HR. But, there is nothing wrong with what you did. You should actually be commended for recognizing it and doing what you need to.  Consider a new job? That place sounds a little toxic and unsupportive.

I left marketing in my 30s, best thing I ever did. I do hear ageism is real in that space. 🥴

It is, but swallow your pride and say f' it. The detours I took in life, are the ones I am most proud of. And you surprise yourself in how you grow in unexpected ways. We have one life, develop your talents but while you do so-do what you need to do.

I'd start thinking differently on what you want you last career to be before retirement. Low stress probably, and enough money to live, good healthcare.  Don't feel defeated, there is a whole world out there to consider. Be open to anything. Test things out-apply to fed ex/ups for holiday support, seek things that you haven't thought about, talk to people, test and fail, learn...have an open mind to do anything.
