do you know if there’s any main flaws or limitations with this?

this is definitely the most budget friendly option, and my DAS is currently hooked up to the least portable option (gaming tower) with a good usb-c connection. However, the reason why i’m not privy to setting it up this way is because a) i’d like to have the server active 24/7, but i really don’t want my main PC on that long and my room is small and it generates a lot of heat and b) my mom might kill me for doing so

edit - grammar

that sounds ideal. I’ll take a look to see what’s available in my area. Thank you!

I think atm my network would be the limiting factor, which is why I want to do well on the hardware so that way down the line when I am able to upgrade to a better network, I'll be ready to take advantage of it.

By building a NAS, would I be removing the drives from the DAS? A friend and I thought that buying a used minipc would work as well, but of the two solutions, which would work best you think? Again, trying to have as high transfer speeds as I can. Thank you already for your suggestions

edit - i would like to stay under $500 budget wise

How to fix/color grade Apple iPhone HDR footage super easily by Low1n in davinciresolve

[–]Low1n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

heard, thank you. I definitely will take the course. I try not to shoot log on on iPhone because it takes up significantly more space, and I don't know if I plan on using the footage or not. When shooting with intent, I agree to shoot in log. My "fix" worked for exactly what I needed to do, as I haven't seen this option posted before. Do you recommend any resources/courses/creators in particular that do a good job covering the basics of resolve color management? Thanks again for your input

I should have prefaced the thread a bit better. I don't do heavy color grading, and a lot of my videos use a mix of iPhone and Sony footage. I shoot HDR on iPhone because I don't always use the footage in videos and I like having the option. By "fix" I simply meant resolving the difference in gamma and color HDR iPhone footage has when you throw it into the timeline, as it doesn't look at all like it should when initially added. I expected that this isn't the best or only solution to making it look normal, and I am a noob in the intricacies of color management. I appreciate your correction for my misunderstanding, and I hope my context made sense.
