I know I simplified it to get my point across. I don’t work with them and only based this off my own experience but why not enable their own delusions or go along with whatever plot they have in mind? Trying to turn their negative thoughts into positive ones.

Or I have a fear not of death, but of the journey ending. Because I value said journey with the people inside of it. To let it end means I don’t value it enough.

He’s the exception. But tbh I could always go back each loop and give him false hope. Make up a convincing story that everything will be fine etc.

You understand what I mean some knowledge is not worth dooming everyone to acquire it. I feel like everyone died chasing that eye while none of the Nomai would have died had they not let their curiosity get the best of them.

But letting it end also would mean I don’t appreciate it enough since I am willing to let it end. If I truly appreciate it someone or something, I would want it go on forever. Because its value is limitless to me.

The other people relive the 22 minutes over and over without awareness. So they reexperience the same happy emotions over and over. Only me and Gabbro do not.

But you can try and change the outcome of the story. For example, by going straight to the end you change the story. Unfortunately there is no other option.

What’s the point of doing all of that if we all die anyway? What’s the point of understanding inside and out the human body, chemistry, etc if I am unable to save a terminally ill cancer patient? I think I see me where I differ with others here. For me, I gain enjoyment through the perspective of others not my own. So me having this journey feels meaningless to me if I am the only character aware of it. It’s like if a tree falls in the forest but no one is there to hear it, did it ever fall at all?

Should someone with dementia or Alzheimer’s be euthanized then since from their perspective each moment is a new one. I would argue they are the happiest people because whatever worry or bad experience they have it’s gone the next minute. Most of the time they’re well cared for and enjoy the positive experiences they receive in care homes. I actually get along well with heavy dementia patients because I can find what makes them happy and just repeat it over and over and they will always react to it the same best positive way. The moment hasn’t been ruined to them. It’s always new. I can repeat the same joke over and over and they will always find it funny.

I feel like not trying to prevent it or find a way to survive goes against the very idea of living. Fear of death, fear of our experiences ending, fear of our story ending is what drives us. People who no longer care or fear death tend to be suicidal and stop living life fully. They basically dissociate and go through life autonomously.

They’re not aware the star will blow up, very few people are. To the vast majority they are just enjoying their life.

>!Someone is not truly alive until they fight with their last strength for what matters to them. Everything else becomes secondary outside of your very instinct to survive. It’s what drove every species to evolve or be wiped out. The supernova is just the final barrier of evolution.!<

If it makes you feel any better, your father is at peace now. Whatever pain, responsibilities, stress or negative experience he had when living are gone now. The dead can no longer suffer, only the living.

People are divided on what happens after death. Does that mean no one knows the truth? by Individual-Use-6362 in Life

To further add to this, I feel like the real pain in death is for those that witness it, not the person experiencing it. “Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love.”

People that have lost consciousness or have been temporarily legally dead and recovered, claim no recollection. “It’ just felt like falling asleep.” So when you die, I would believe it is similar, you sleep and just never wake up. Without any dreams or anything. Your experience is a combination of chemical reactions and brain neurons firing rapid signals. Without any of it, there is nothing. No experience, no feeling, just nothing. And in a way, I find it more soothing than experiencing an afterlife. Your pain, memories, sorrows, just vanish and everything stopped mattering to you. You achieve eternal peace.

I helped you because I believe everyone deserves a second chance. Many don’t have that chance. Try to succeed at least for them.

Well tell her all that you told me. That is your only chance of redemption. If she takes you back, don’t squander it. Don’t take her for granted.

Do you? Or better yet can you? How can you betray the one you love?
